    Is the ringing effect for when you fire or for when you're fired upon?

    It is intended for whenever a loud noise occurs close to you. But at the moment, you will also get the tinnitus effect if you take a lot of gunfire.

    A thought occurred to me that the tinnitus effect should not really begin to occur until the ears are placed under stress through a constant barrage of firing. It would seem overly forced if it were to happen through the firing of only a handful of muskets; better to have the effect increase in intensity over a prolonged firefight.
