Is the screenshot the aftermath of the Second battle Charge? That thing was brutal.

I have to say that the very high visibility with low settings is a bit meh... haven't tested it myself but it seems that spotting troops is so much easier. Not a fan of lowering the graphics for an advantage...
If that was directed at me, it's what my Comp defaulted to (low settings) didn't realise when I was playing.
I'm with you on that one Gamble, unfortunately when the dev's have to address playability on lower-end computers, it seems to be an added by-product. I pointed this out very early in the technical alpha when we only had the Union drill camp. I happened to be standing near a house and was changing my graphics modes to see the difference, and I noticed that the change in foliage allowed for varying levels of visibility. Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is a lot they can do about that. My example was that I would not have seen a unit marching toward me in the highest graphics mode, but I would have seen them in a lesser graphic mode. Exactly what your example points out.
Here is the old post if you'd like to see the 4 screenshots that I included at that time. In the post I did misuse the term "resolution" versus "graphics mode", so when you read resolution, what I meant was the various graphics modes.
