    Old Musket Sounds

Hello not sure if this is a suggestion or not i remember a long time ago i when i watch the character teaser trailer here-https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjjtVoHRXgg. that the sounds fo the guns just sounds so much better and meater. what happened to that.? also what about that nice looking gun with all of that detail on the gun? not complaining but it is just my personal prefrence that they where the better sounds. so to sum it up will the game be going back to thoes sounds later in development?

No. It's an ancient video. We had a different sound guy back then. In regards to the weapon model - trust me, you wouldn't want us to go back to it.

It's not really gonna sound like that though. Blanks and live rounds sound different.

The only way it would sound the same is if the recordings were made with blanks and not live firing, but from what I can hear it sounds like live rounds.

Also, to the OP. Those old sounds don't sound very realistic, the new sounds are much better. Once they add variations it will sound even better.

That's true to an extent. While most of your Springfields and Enfields will sound about the same (unless somebody rolled some extra grains in their rounds...) a rifle like the Henry certainly has a different sound. More like a crack than a boom.

I think what Rhett was trying to say was more on the lines of the amount of shots in a perfect volley, not so much the specific sounds of blank rounds.

I'm not to sure what you mean by crack then a boom? not going to lie but that kinda sounds like the round hitting supersonic speed. BUT the area that you are in also has an effect on the guns sound. So trying to get an accurate sound is really hard if you are only shooting at a range.

Well, it is kind of hard to explain, but when you hear a Henry being fired, and then let's say an Enfield, the Henry has almost a higher pitched sound while the Enfield will have a deeper toned shot.

Check this out, mind you of course that it sounds different in real life, but still a basic idea:
