    The Southern Independent Brigade

    The Southern Independent Brigade

We are a mixed Brigade of Infantry, Calvary, and Artillery. We are formed from companies of different states who's members want something a little different than the typical Brigade structure. We do not have a designated Brigade Commander or Brigade Staff in the Southern Independent Brigade. We work in a rotating system of leadership, meaning each company will provide temporary leadership at the Brigade level for a period of time until it becomes the next Company Staffs turn to take over. This will provide more involvement for not only the company staff Officers and NCOs who will fill the Brigade Staff positions, but also for the junior officers and NCOs in each company to get the chance to become the senior leaders in their respective companies. Different people provide different types of leadership and this system will give individuals the chance to prove their worth not only on the battlefield but in the command tent. Experience will be gained at the Company and Brigade level, the fun factor will be increased and the companies will be able to feel more involved in the whole process of both planning and fighting the battles to come.

The Southern Independent Brigade is not only looking for individual soldiers to fill the ranks in each company, but we are also welcoming any Company, Troop or Battery to join us and partake in the venture of defeating the Federals on the glorious field of battle.
