(mostly about the medieval period books)

Great if you just want to read a bit about a specific type of soldiers.
Great if you are a mainstream reenactor.

Only partly useful for serious academic study. (Errors and too few footnotes)

That said, I have used Osprey titles in both ordinary exams and in my BA (medieval archaeology) where I wrote about early gunpowder weapons...

But basically you should always try to get you information from more than one source... with Osprey and everything else.

Those books are worth their weight in gold! (in both senses, that's why I have a few of them)

Like Aargard said, the series is very specific, covering from the widely know divisions and armies, like D-Day Rangers,to far less know ones.
Got really surprised and excited to find a book about the early armies of Rome. Always thought there was little info,if none at all, about their military.

BTW,do anyone knows if they have books about the Warsaw Pact armies during the late 50s to early 70s?

At the moment, I only bought one book so far but planning on buying more.
