    84th New York Company B (14th Brooklyn)

    Introduction

The 84th New York Volunteer also known as the 14th Brooklyn served in the American Civil War from April 1861 to May 1864. These men commonly know as the red legged devils became famous from the many battles they fought from the First Bull Run and all the way to Gettysburg. Lincoln himself use these men to be his personal guard whenever he went to the front near their camp. The long history of the 84th has gone through glory and slaughter. We will try our very best to bring back the glory and fear that the 84th brought up on the battlefield, so come and join us so that you yourself can prove that you deserve to carry the red.

Throughout the war the 14th made a name for themselves for their refusal to stand down from a fight made Infamous in the First Battle of Bull Run when they charged up Henry House Hill to try and break the Confederate line. The battle was costly for the 84th New York but they never broke. Only choosing to fullback when the order was given. This was the day General Jackson called them "the red legged devils".
