    Company A

As a "Rifles Company" we form the backbone of the C.S.A. armed forces. We are holding the line in gritty combat and giving the Yanks murderous volley after volley. Our forte is our disciplined reloading and firing drills which we train regularly. Due to this we can employ tactics such as fire-by-rank and fire-by-section but also employ skirmishing and harassing tactics. We have extensive but simple to understand documentation on all the tactics and maneuvers which will we go through during training.

    The Company Needs...

    Enlisted
    NCO
    Officer
As an enlisted man, either a private or a corporal, your main duty is operating your rifled-musket and following the directions of your NCO or the CO. You're an integral part of the Line and form the bone of the backbone of the army. As a musketeer you are disciplined and selfless. You know how to execute a myriad of commands involving marching and forming in formations and firing sequences. Of course you also tend to your personal shooting skills, literally aiming to become the best marksman you can be. To this end you are aware, responsive and you know when to speak and when not to clutter communications.
The NCO has a myriad of tasks, including taking the command of a Squad. The NCO helps manage the Company by both relaying the CO's orders as well as supplementing them and of course giving out their own. Depending on your exact function, your tasks may involve taking command of a part of the Company, echoing marching and firing orders, dressing the Line and speaking up to individuals and explain things to them. You are the arms and legs of the Officers but at the same time an independent leader who sees opportunity and feels out danger. You are also essential in the line of communication
As an Officer of the Company your main task is to issue orders to your subordinates. Your orders will be tailored to the larger vision of the Captain but you are largely in charge on how to materialize that. You take direct command of large parts of the Company, for instance a Platoon, or indeed the Company as a whole at time. Apart from your tactical acumen good decision making comes your logistical and methodological thinking, timing your maneuvers and orders right. You are also a people's person and you know who to give what task to the best of their abilities. All of this makes you form part of the brains of the Company.

Thank you for the warm welcome gentlemen. It was a light decision to choose home and hearth over the Union's treachery. I might not have been born in South Carolina but I owe her my livelihood. I'll be darned if I let the Yanks destroy everything we've built! Their unjust taxes are the downfall of the South.
