Neat, some ones I actually agree with.
One of my pet peeves is maps that aren't improved. A vanilla map is generally never good-to-go on the first try. Things like spawn, objective, or boundary positioning is paramount. Some maps have been improved while others haven't.
Pry Grist Mill, for example. The Union spawn is on the left edge of the map opposite the Mill. The objective is the opposite side. You're almost guaranteed you will lose a lot of out-of-line and skirmishing casualties of guys trying to wander back to the action from the main spawn because the spawn is not centralized to the struggle at all. When the Confederates were able to cross they would lose a lot in the same manner in that area. Now that they can't, and with counterattack, it's a solidly pro-CSA map.
Pry Ford has a similar problem but for the Confederates. Some maps make a little sense to have odd spawning locations, like perhaps Burnside Bridge. The lines of reinforcement are pretty critical to gameplay in every skirmish area. You change them and the whole dynamic and flow of the map changes. People have valid concerns as to why the Confederates can't advance further in defense on Burnside Bridge and Pry Ford. Other maps you can fire into the enemy spawn and people do with increasing frequency.
