We are a company in the C.S.A focused on realism and fighting the way troops did during the civil war.

2nd Regiment South Carolina Infantry (2nd Palmetto Regiment) Company C "Columbia Grays"

I'm a reenactor who has trained and drilled in Hardee's Tactics. I even have a copy. I've personally done the maneuvers and I have personally fired live rounds from an 1853 .58 Enfield Rifled Musket. I'm also a bugler versed in bugle calls.

I've smelled the smells, slept in the tents and woke up covered in frost, warmed myself at a camp fire, felt the rifle kick against my shoulder, done the Rebel Yell, charged the Yankees, done the marching, worn the gear, stacked the rifles (Kentucky swing of course): I've seen the elephant!

You'll be no more authentic than if you follow me in my company!

If you want to be led by someone with real life experience, follow me to the battle lines!

The Irish Brigade strives for historical accuracy, most Officer, NCO, and Enlisted names are from company enlistment rolls. Despite this we still attempt to be a fun and informal brigade. It is just a group of companies that work together, we do not take command of it in anyway ( Company COs are the highest ranking, unless formations specify otherwise ) a teamspeak 3 central server is provided, though not required to use. Companies are permitted and even encouraged to join together as Battalions ( Smaller then a regiment ) Artillery Brigades or even Cavalry Troops. That though is the choice of all companies that would be affected by this. By doing this they may also choose a representative for the Brigade Staff. In most cases this individual would become a Major and represent the group as a whole during staff meetings. But as stated before, we in no way want to take control of something that takes time and effort to build up. As we know the struggle it takes to form a company of a decent number. Even if you are not an Irish regiment, you are still more then welcome to join, as we don't have any bias (Ok, maybe a little :) )

Our sister brigade, Brooke's Brigade (Second Brigade) follows the same concept and is still open to anyone that applies.

The 52nd, historically, was a regiment composed completely of German immigrants. We aim to capture realism, for example by following the drills and tactics of the time, but also with consideration of the regiment’s nationality, done by following orders not in English, but in German. Anyone of any nationality and language, however, may join. We strive for a fun and friendly community, but still ensuring to play seriously and realistically as is expected.

The winning post would not be the only recruitment post visible, it will be put in instead of the 5th Louisiana post on the first page I made and changing every week, it's an award for putting in a lot of effort into a post, I don't think that's so much to ask.

I still can not allow it. It gives those companies with good graphic artiest and thread makes an unfair advantage to those who are not as good. The disproportion is already viable on the threads on the US and CS boards The main company board is an area of equal opportunity, not a place to play company again company.

No contest.

Tired of the bland Standard Issue Union Uniforms?

Spice up your life and join one of the most colorful companies along the Union Battle Line, the Duryee Zouaves Company A! The 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, also known as also known as "Duryée's Zouaves", was a volunteer infantry regiment of the Union Army, during the American Civil War, led by Colonel Abram Duryée. Modeled, like other Union and Confederate infantry regiments, on the French Zouaves of Crimean War fame, its members were.

Even the uniforms of the 5th New York's were modeled closely on those of French Zouaves: a dark blue Zouave jacket with red trim, a dark blue Zouave vest with red trim, a red Zouave sash with sky blue trim, extremely baggy red pantaloons, a red fez with a yellow tassel, white gaiters and leather jambičres ("leggings").

We are an experienced company, from Mount and Blade's Napoleonic Wars, to Hinkel's North and South. We are an established and well organized company in the War of Rights community. We strive for historical accuracy on the field, but casual off the field. Our main missons in the community are: Comrade, Honor, Discipline, and Integrity.

Union Redleg in Search of Fellow Redlegs
In search of a Federal artillery unit (preferably light artillery) that will be committed to being as accurate as possible within the confines of the game (but not at the expense of fun!).

Gentlemen (and Ladies, if there are any out there), I submit the following for your consideration:

Name: union_cannoneer (preferred method of contact at this time is via reply to this post or private message)
Age: 25
Region: Northeastern US (New Jersey/New York)
Languages: English (native); German and Spanish (passable)
Advantages: Union light artillery reenactor in real life. I have in-the-field experience with artillery drill and have worked with an original 12 pound M1857 Napoleon and a reproduction 10 pound Parrott rifle. I don't pretend to be an expert in all things artillery, but I do have a copy of the Hunt/Barry/French drill manual which I peruse regularly and either already have or can easily obtain other drill manuals and artillery research materials. I don't know how artillery will ultimately work in WoR, but I believe I can be an asset to whatever unit I ultimately join. Don't let my forum badge fool you, either; I am more than happy to serve as a private and am mature enough to follow the chain of command and maintain unit discipline.
Disadvantages: Unlike many users on this forum, I have never played Napoleonic Wars, North and South, etc. I hope that my reenacting experience can make up for my lack of game experience. In any case, I am an eager learner. Another possible issue is that, being a reenactor and having a full-time day job, my time playing would be limited to evenings and weekends when I'm not reenacting.

Unfortunately, I only have access to a Mac at the moment, so I have no plans to play WoR until its release, which I hope will be soon... but then again, not too soon, that way I can get a proper PC. Still, I thought I'd post anyway just to meet people and see what's out there.

Please feel free to PM with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Thank you for looking! The Union forever!

1st Minnesota Infantry Regiment, Company B "Stillwater Guard"
Attention!
Looking for all who are ready to join a Company of skill and valor, come join up with the 1st Minnesotans of Company B. when looking at the rear to see other Union commanders shake in their boots or those who are too incompetent to lead, you will never see the 1st MN as we gladly take the front, and win the battle! Our company of just over 60 soldiers is well trained and well organized and we'll soon be up to a fighting battalion with your help.

Positions Within our Company:
Greenies: the Newest to the bunch but after Basic Combat Training or BCT your opportunities increase immensely, you'll probably be like the russians at stalingrad, one with a rifle and the other with bullets, haha, but no really this just means you have been through the basics of our company and you might be as good as any other soldier we've got or you could be on a god-tier level and we just don't know it yet.

Privates or Enlisted: passed our basic training and are ready to fight anything and everything, of course you'll know that you are the just a step up from the lowest of the low, but you're still an invaluable part of the team, as a private your main job is to fill in the line and of course follow orders. and Of course we have room for improvement, when we see fit, you will be given Service Stripes to commend you for your service with us.

Non-Commissioned Officers: These guys are mostly in charge of making sure the Officers order is followed to the dot, and will also be in charge of training our greenies and other enlisted, so that they are combat ready.

Officers: Fairly Simple, luxurious, amazing and graceful these bad boys will be giving out commands and dealing out promotions when they see fit.

Musicians(Positions Open):as a musician you will play in the band and give morale to our troops through the beating of your drum or the playing of your fife.

Flag Bearer(Positions Open): fairly simple as well, you carry a flag, and are at the front on every formation to ensure your fellow Minnesotans know which way to go.

We aren't a hardcore style regiment as we believe heavily that a game should be just that, a game, although we do act professional when in battles, basically Having fun, to an organized level.

Thank you for reading,
Sincerely your's, Signed Sergeant Michaelsmithern 1st Minnesota, Company B

Welcome to the 24th New York Infantry Company A

It first encamped on Meridian hill, but moved to Arlington mills on July 22, and late in September established winter quarters at Upton's hill. The regiment was first assigned to Keyes' brigade, which became on Oct. I, the 1st brigade, 1st division, and on March 13, 1862, the 1st brigade, 1st division, 1st corps,—the "Iron Brigade." In March, 1862, the brigade moved to Centerville, but returned at once to Alexandria, and in April proceeded to Bristoe Station and thence to Fredericksburg. During June and July it encamped at Falmouth after a sharp encounter with the enemy at that point in April. It was present during the actions at Rappahannock Station and Groveton and in the second battle of Bull Run lost 237 merriT bers in killed, wounded and missing. After a brief rest at Upton's hill, the brigade was again active at South mountain and Antietam, after which it went into camp at Sharpsburg until late in the autumn, when it moved to Fredericksburg, participated in the battle there, and then established winter quarters at Belle Plain. In the Chancellorsville movement the brigade was held in reserve and on May 29, 1863, the 24th was mustered out at Elmira, having lost 91 men by death from wounds and 31 by death from other causes.

Company Summary:

Our regiment will simulate the civil war order of battle and tactics as closely as possible in a game. We will accept no cowards, and orders from a superior must be followed without question.

BATTLE PURPOSE

Learn why it is better to be called a Trooper rather than a Private!
The 2nd Virginia Cavalry has been formed as a Cavalry unit that will act as dismounted line infantry as well as skirmishers and mounted cavalrymen. Due to the current state of the War of Rights development there are no cavalry aspects in the game presently. To counteract this we will be acting as dismounted infantry and skirmishers until we can also perform our main role as mounted Calvary.

DISMOUNTED BEHAVIOR

When the cavalry preform a mounted infantry or dismount role troopers are expected to ride into battle with a horse and then dismount and become a regular or irregular infantry soldier. Due to the current state of development this will be the role we will be performing most often.(without the dismounting part) Essentially the cavalrymen will behave as a line infantry unit with the ability to become a light skirmisher unit using light infantry tactics and formations.
Generally during line infantry operations we will fall into the rank and file of other formations we are with becoming basic infantry soldiers. When deployed as skirmishers our soldiers will behave as irregular forces charged with disrupting the enemy and using special weapons to eliminate the enemy.

MOUNTED BEHAVIOR

Mounted Cavalry operations will be the specialty of this company. While the men of E Troop are proclaimed cavalry we are flexible enough to fight on foot. Although it is preferred to fight in a powerful position on a mount such as the horse. The company can be used for reconnaissance operations, direct charges and flanking attacks. On a mount the Troop can move faster than infantry forces allowing the troopers to engage and disengage the enemy quickly. With a horse a charge has much more literal force behind it and the ability to demoralize the enemy. With these advantages fighting on a mount with maneuverability and power allows for unique advantages that are denied to soldiers of foot. With these benefits the 2nd Virginia will establish itself as the premier Calvary unit of the Confederate States of America.

ENLISTMENT[/center]

To enlist please contact any member of the 2nd Virginia Cavalry preferably an NCO or officer.

You could always join us. Louisiana were some of the best shock troops in the CSA, I know it's not exactly light infantry but light infantry is more of a skirmish line anyways so we could always do that as well as a regular battle-line.

I would assume that it would be the same advertisement as making different ones each time would be too much of a hassle, and on the OP, it was stated that you can post once every two days which is why you see the same ones so often.

Hey y'all! My name is Lance Rawlings and I'm raising Company K of the 38th North Carolina Infantry, "The Carolina Boys". We will be using Hardee's Revised Drill Manual, and we will determine rank by ability, attendance, attitude, and understanding of relevant subjects. Eventually, I may open up the company for all members to vote for the NCO's, and possibly NCO's vote for commissioned officers. We'll play with it and see what we like.

I am a reenactor and I simply love the entire concept of this game. We will be apart of A. P. Hill's Light Division, so if you love an authentic feel, come on by! Check out our thread and group below.

The 3rd U.S Regular Infantry Regiment is looking for new men to enlist! We accept people from both Europe and North America from any range of nationalities. We have over four years of structured regimental game-play experience. We are disciplined when necessary, treat all people fairly and most importantly we have fun. We don't see any point in making twenty people do something if only the two officers enjoy it. We are looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield, whether with or against, in the War of Rights.

5th Texas Infantry "The Bloody Fifth" Company B (The Immigrants)

The Fifth Texas Infantry Regiment was organized by the Confederate War Department in Richmond, Virginia, in October 1861. The men of the Fifth Texas Infantry were recruited primarily from the Texas counties of Colorado, Harris, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Milam, Montgomery, Polk, Trinity, Walker, and Washington. The unit was organized into ten companies. These companies had nicknames attached to them to denote their area of origin. For example, Company A was known as the Bayou City Guards, Company C as the Leon Hunters, Company D as the Waverly Confederates, Company E as the Dixie Blues, Company F as the Invincibles, Company G as the Milam County Grays, Company H as the Texas Polk Rifles, Company I as the Texas Aides, and Company K as the Polk County Flying Artillery.

Does not matter where you from, if you like a friendly but professional approach to the game, where everybody will get a change to shine, to take the lead sometimes, to go out on a scouting mission etc.
Guess I am looking for you!

Headquarters, Brigadier General Maxy Gregg
2nd Brigade, Light Division
Near Antietam, Maryland
September 1862

Gentlemen of the South,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Brigadier General Maxcy Gregg, CO of Major General A. P. Hill's 2nd Brigade. My Brigade is continually looking for fine men to join our ranks, either in an existing company or by mustering a new company within historical allowance.I encourage you to browse through General Hill's Division post to view the companies currently under my command as well as the available options should you choose to muster your own. (http://www.warofrightsforum.com/showthread.php?754-A-P-Hill-s-Light-Division) I believe you will find my Brigade as not only one of the most active, but also with the most numbers. We offer training from School of the Soldier to School of the Officer, as well as weekly company drill and monthly Brigade drill.

Currently my Brigade consists of six individual companies, one of which is newly formed and does need members. We are the best of the best with regular drill and probably one of the most active player bases in the game currently. If you are interested in joining an existing company, please contact the respective captain. If you are interested in mustering your own company, please contact me for further instruction.

On behalf of the Army of Northern Virginia and the State of South Carolina, I thank you in advance!

Respectfully Yours,

General Gregg

We are currently recruiting, however we are looking for those over the age of twenty-one and of a similar mind to ourselves. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances. Our group is small and largely a social one more than anything else; we're currently cycling though a few games including Naval Action, Scourge of War: Waterloo, Rocket League and others.
Feel free to contact for more information!

I know I have enlisted in a unit but I was wondering if there are any West Coast, United States units here or who play at a time that we could play too? I live in WA state.

I was looking at the CSA earlier but it appears most you are actual real Southerners and play during times that I would still be at work. I just asked my General what times we play. I guess I should done all that first. I was just so excited about all this stuff. Plus I got busy with the flags.

You live on the west coast and you joined an Australian company. Rip. :p

General. Jackson

We are not an Australian Company. The 2nd plans to have 4 units, majority of the 2nd is actually people who are American. The American's are with Company C, the Aussies will be placed in another company.

Joining another unit will terminate your enlistment Ironsides.

The 2nd U.S Infantry Company's are split up between regions, no one is expected to play in another region unless they choose to do so.

I wasn't entirely sure he was looking for a new company, Jackson, but I thought he was searching simply for units he could fall in with while the 2nd was not on. I could be wrong.

Colonel is pushing it. Major or Lt. Col. would be better.

That said how come there is only 1 formed 2ndUS (Co. C) in the Co. tool if you have 4 companies?

You are correct, but I'd struggle to call 4 companies a regiment. Still a Battalion really. 6 companies would be a better place to start calling yourself a Colonel.

with the respected numbers of people that will probably playing this game. i think it would be justified to call himself a Col. A regiment at this time usually consisted of over 1000 men and i don't personally think anyone in the foreseeable future will have anywhere near that number. i would call 4 company's a damn good job deserving of a Col.

Sorry, army regulations of the time state that 8 to 10 companies form a regiment deserving of a Colonelcy. A regiment consisting of 7 or less companies rate a Major. In essence, the army regulations indicated up to 5 companies comprised a Battalion commanded by a Major.

James Kipler
12-01-2016, 02:04 PM
Perhaps 'pro-rating' those numbers for the context of the game might be worth consideration. It seems difficult for an officer to grow and command 8 to 10 companies. Perhaps a general consensus could be come to saying that anything over 6 companies, for example might garner a colonelcy. Just a thought.

I see what you're saying and don't disagree with it full. Historically you are correct however in relation to the game and the company tool any body with 40+ guys could snap up 4 companies and crown himself colonel. I got 80+ guys so I could if I wanted to snap up 80 companies, but obviously that's a dick move so I won't.

What I think you're a little caught up on if having perfect 100 man companies for in game. I agree with you on saying at we won't see any 1000 man regiments any time soon if ever. However what if someone where to simply reduced the number of men in a company for easy of command and convinced. This would make it easier to raise for companies of men and thus snap up more numbers. If everyone over 4 companies claimed colonelcy then if people had a number of small companies then boom, suddenly they're a colonel. 6 companies is just a harder number to achieve and makes the self appointment to colonel a lot more meaningful.

(ps. Sorry Hill but "regulations" got thrown out the window long ago xD)

Gotta say, I believe 6 companies minimum to become a Colonel, even if you only have 60 men. In regards why I'm a major and only have one formed company is due to the fact everyone is bundled together for now, It would also fuck up the ranks if I then again demoted myself. In the near future you will see a new 2nd company and then a 3rd and then finally a 4th.

Have a good night.

Macliness

I think before anyone decides who is what rank at what time we should really wait to see how the game plays out. for example a N&S Line is decent at 15 men. so lets wait and see what a decent sized company is in WoR before we jump to Who should be what rank at what point. All tho i do agree there should be a point where you need so many companies to elect a Col more that 2 definitely. i would say 4 to be on the safe side.

About the 42nd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment

The 42nd Pennsylvania, 2nd Battalion, Co. E and Co. F, are a battalion of infantry that aim to be a well trained and disciplined, realism unit for the up and coming game War of Rights. We aim to have 1 or 2 events a week on the weekends as well as 1 training session, resulting in a maximum commitment of 3 events a week. The company plans on playing as both line and sharpshooter due to the regiment being armed with the Sharps Rifles and also due to them repeatedly throwing the rule book out the window. The Officers of the battalion hold a pool of knowledge and skills whilst the NCOs walk down their own path of specialization to create a team able to train men in all forms of combat. Men are recruited from all across the community with a wide range of different abilities; all are welcome in the 42nd Pennsylvania as long as you keep to the rules. The 42nd Pennsylvania aims to become a well-respected Battalion and hopes to join in the community with a blast.

Hi everyone,

I make it quick ;)

My brother and me are looking for an European company for the CSA. We prefer a company of the stonewall brigade, or any other company of Virginia.

We speak :
German – good
English – okay
French – okay

What does we bring to the company:
-2 motivated volunteers ;)
-We are willing to learn the correct orders
-We will stay in the line and obey the orders of our leading officers
-If needed we give our opinion to plan actions or training sessions
-we have +/- good shooting skills ;)
-good teamplayer

Other informations
We like it to play “historical correct”, but we don’t know yet a lot of the correct terms and orders.

I hope that there is a company who is searching members and that we can have a good time together.

If interested you can write a private message.

Cheers

- I have lots of commissions from actual clients (also a graphic designer).
Combine those two and you get an over stressed student who barely has time to play for 2 weeks and then goes full out.
- I'm 20 and male.
- Looking for a fun loving family that won't harass me to death with messages to join a battle or their regiment or event or party. (You can see my reasoning why above).

About us:

The German Volunteers is a community of likeminded German companies for the game War of Rights fighting for both Factions,
which will strife to provide a fun gaming experience for anyone interested in the German participation in the US Civil War.
All participating companies are either historically mostly german companies, are german based communities
or have a general interest in building a community around the german side of the Civil War.

Our Goal is to build a gaming community around these common factors, and to build a Website and Teamspeak for common use.
We are a loose federation without a rigid rank structure and treat each participating company as equal among all others.
The community guidelines and rules to be determined and layed out are our overarching way of organising the community,
with each company being allowed complete freedom in treating internal affairs.

How to Join:

Any companies who wish to be part of this community and feel like our approach is for them,
please contact our Legion Commander or one of the company leaders specified below.

If you are a player and are interested in joining the community,
please head over to the threads of the individal member companies
or contact the Company Commanders linked below for information on how to join them!

We are also still searching for capable and reliable officers to join our Legion Staff!
If you want to take part in shaping our community and help in organization and administration,
please contact our Legion Commander Willhelm von Steinhausen.

We are a Company who is based solely on roleplay and Historical accuracy ( Although we have keep a balance within the game engine aswell) we aim to recreate an atmosphere that of the 1860's, everything we do we aim to give you the full Civil war experience, we accept any age as long as you are active and understand the rules, our company uses Casey's and Gilham's manual in this company you are expected through attendance and training to learn the school of the soldier as basic training and advance to more detailed and complicated part of the manual, what makes this company in some way unique is that we aim to use the rank structure such as NCO and CO from Corporal to Sergeant to function within the timeframe, meaning we want to make them something important in the same time upholding responsibilities of their own, not just another stripe on their arm.

On the question why the 1st Texas is the best out there for war of rights now as it stands. Is because of highly dedicated Officers willing to lead and learn not just lead and experiment. They have NCOs dedicated in perfection of how the formation should look and making sure people stay active. They have some of the most accurate shooters who are at this moment teaching the new recruits how to spill yankee blood at upto 400 meters. They have experience from past games and are dedicated in using Terrain in War of rights to there advantage to quickly turn the tides of battle. I pitty the yankee clans for thinking they have a chance when starting this war. I beleive the 1st Texas will prove themselves on the field every time there engaged and will show no weakness in overall superior Tactics. God Bless the Southern Cause

Don't really agree with this. Not really liked how your NCO's conduct themselves in the game. Unneeded level of being bossy . Not being respectful when other NCO's are already in the game, see them as pushy and wanting to take over. I do not see them being involved listening to other members of the community. Very nice you promote the guys but it ain't the whole truth or every ones point of view. God Bless the Southern Cause

Many Companies ... like mine .... and many larger organizations ... like Ewell's Division ... recruit both NA and EU.
Often times it is more about time zones or common languages that bind a Unit together and not set Geographic Regions.
Insomnia is also often a factor. heh

Yours honorably,
Capt. F. L. Villarreal

HISTORY

"The 2d Regt. Mass. Vol. Inf. was recruited in April, 1861, by George H. Gordon, a West Point graduate, who became its first colonel. It was the first regiment composed wholly of volunteers raised in Massachusetts for the war. It was organized at Camp Andrew at Brook Farm in West Roxbury, and was mustered into the service May 25, 1861.
Leaving Massachusetts July 8, it joined the force of Gen. Patterson at Martinsburg, Va., on the 12th. The summer and fall were spent largely in picketing the line of the upper Potomac. In the late fall it was in camp at Seneca Creek near Darnestown, Md., and early in December it went into winter quarters at Camp Hicks on the Baltimore pike about four miles east of Frederick, Md.
Late in February it moved into the Shenandoah Valley, the troops there being now under the command of Gen. N. P. Banks. On March 10, Col. Gordon was given command of the brigade, and the 2d now became a part of Gordon's (3d) Brigade, of Banks' Division. On March 26, immediately after the battle of Kernstown, Gen. Banks was given command of the newly formed 5th Corps, and the 2d Mass. became a part of Gordon's (3d) Brigade, Williams' (1st) Division of that corps. The 2d Division was commanded by Gen. Shields. While Shields was fighting Jackson at Kernstown, March 23, the 2d Mass., with the exception of Co. G, was on an expedition toward Snicker's Cap. Returning immediately to Winchester the regiment joined in the pursuit of Jackson through Strasburg, New Market, and on as far as Harrisonburg. Here it remained until May 5, when it joined in the retrograde movement to Strasburg, which it reached May 13. On May 24 and 25 it fell back with Banks' command through Newtown, Kernstown, and Winchester, distinguishing itself by excellent rear guard fighting and reaching the ford of the Potomac at Williamsport on the night of the 25th. While at Williamsport Col. Gordon was promoted to Brigadier General, U. S. Volunteers.
On June 10 the regiment again advanced, passing through Martinsburg and Winchester and on to a position near Front Royal, where it remained until July 6. It then moved over Chester Gap to Little Washington, where on July 17 it became a part of Pope's Army of Virginia, Banks' command being now known as the 2d Corps.
At Cedar Mountain, August 9, the 2d Regiment suffered severe loss. At Antietam, September 17, it was again heavily engaged, losing its commander, Lieut. Col. Wilder Dwight. Here it formed a part of Mansfield's (12th) Corps.
After a winter spent in camp near Stafford Court House, the regiment participated in the battle of Chancellorsville, May 1 to 5, and in the battle of Gettysburg, July 1 to 3, suffering severely, especially a Gettysburg, where it lost another commander, Lieut. Col. Charles R. Mudge.
In August it was sent to New York City to aid in the suppression of the draft riots which were still raging. In September it was transferred to Stevenson, Ala., the 11th and 12th Corps being now attached to the Army of the Cumberland. In December a sufficient number of members re-enlisted to preserve the identity of the regiment and it became known as the 2d Regt. Mass. Veteran Volunteers.
In April, 1864, the 11th and 12th Corps were consolidated to form the 20th Corps commanded by Gen. Joseph Hooker and later by Col. George A. Mower. As a part of the 2d Brigade, 1st Division, 20th Corps, Army of Georgia, the 2d, a veteran regiment, participated in the battles of Resaca, Kenesaw Mountain, and the siege of Atlanta, was in the March to the Sea, in the operations before Savannah, and in the northward march through Georgia and the Carolinas. Averysboro, N. C., fought March 16, 1865, was its last important battle. When Johnston surrendered, April 26, the regiment was at Raleigh, N. C., doing guard duty.
Marching all the way back to Washington, it was in the Grand Review, May 24. On July 14 it was mustered out, but the men were not paid off and discharged until July 26, when they were assembled for the last time at Readville, Mass."

I am Captain J.Huntington of the 1st Ohio Artillery Battery H. I have composed this message to encourage you to join my Company the 1st Ohio Light Artillery Battery H. We are a mustering company of Ohio men mostly from the Toledo area. We were a major artillery unit in the war and saw a lot of action. Our unit is not very large as we just started so if you were to join today you would receive a high rank and would most likely be trained to command an artillery piece once it becomes a part of the game. If you would like to join or if you would like more info please message me.
