During events what will the maps be like? Will it be all one big map of South Mountain, Antietam, and Harper's Ferry, or just single locations like The Cornfield, Dunker Church, etc. If this has been explained somewhere I'm sorry I didn't see it. Also, in concern of the modding tools could we have a tool where we could modify the Regimental Flags? Thanks for future replies, and good luck with the development!

The Events will take place on the big maps, but its up to the event host, on which scale he wants to play his battle..

Historical battle
Two teams are spawned at the historically accurate locations of the given battlefield. One is defending, another is attacking. In order to advance, the attacking team must take key positions the other team is to defend. These are, again, based on actual historical points of engagements. Once a position is taken, the line will move on to the next point, always ensuring that the players will be funneled into the same locations and thereby upping the total numbers of players engaged in the area.

Skirmish battle
A smaller gamemode consisting of a restricted area of any of our maps (this could be Miller’s Cornfield at antietam for instance). In skirmish battle, the players will have to eliminate the entire other team in order to win. Given the much smaller confined area, skirmish battles will function as our “instant action” type of gamemode.

So you will always play on the entire battlefield, but you can limit the borders while choosing a Skirmish Battle.

Will it be possible to have a more randomised version of Historical battle? Like Commanders choosing where to place Units rather than them being automatically assigned to Historically accurate positions.

As good as the Historical Battle mode sounds something with a bit more flexibility might promote more replay-ability and more interesting tactical situations in Game.

You will various options, its not just historical positions :)
So each game can be different.
