I am new to the game and website and looking to join a company. Can someone guide me on how to do this? Also how does the ranking system work within the company?

Welcome to War of Rights! You can look for companies on the company tool. From there you can search for specific states, numbers, and branches to find a company that interest you. If you have not made an account for the company too, you will need to make one and its not linked to your forum account.

The ranking system works differently for each company. Some companies promote based on merit, time spent with company, or favoritism. But the consistence of each company is new members start out as a private or volunteer, then to corporal(from private), to Sergeant, to the *many different sergeant ranks/roles), to 1st sergeant, to 2nd lieutenant, to 1st lieutenant, and then to captain. These ranks again are most common for every company, either federal or confederate. Some companies might be in groups that are regiments, battalions, brigades, or even corps. From there on the ranks would include, major, lieutenant colonel, colonel, brigadier general, major general, lieutenant general, then full fledge general.

Hello ScootLAX18 is there a particular Company you are looking for I can only presume you are looking for a Union company as you have posted on the USA thread. Good company's I can recommend is the 95th New York (NA & EU), 42nd PA (NA & EU), 9th New York (NA) and maybe if you are German the 52nd NY are a German volunteers regiment. And also like saris already answered the ranking system depends on which company you join but if you have other questions please feel free to PM my self if you do.
