Will civilians be added? It would add realism imo.

I would be tempted to kill all civilians before the other players. Cannon fire into a families morning breakfast.

I prefer capturing them and using them as meat shields.

Are you a native American from the New England area or do you just like the name? Mi'kmaq

Thought it looked badass. The Mi'kmaq assisted the Acadians during Le Grand Dérangement.

You mean bots? Like you come to village, you start shooting and everyone will start running from you? That would be cool

Keep villagers out of this game I feel. They're not needed really.

The only way I could imagine in using villagers is in a cut-scene like pre-game-clip where they run

For realism purposes, i would suggest adding NPCS

I do nae want any civilians on this here battlefield!

Well, I was thinking about this, and down the line something like an escort game type would be pretty cool. Say you've got to protect some supplies or a local governor and you've got some NPC's to protect.

Seems like it would create a lot of random killing..

What do you mean?

As in, players constantly killing civilians for no reason.

Got ihmmmmm! :p

I really see no point to adding civilians in War of Rights and I'm not really sure why this thread is still going to be completely honest XD Civilians really don't have any place in a historical fps in my opinion. :)

Guys what if with this you can cap the town and every 1 to 5 min they give tickets as in they are recuited in the army!

What about livestock?

Still, each civilian would need a training, before he is able to serve in the army ;)

Or perhaps, if there is a "spectator" mode in-game, they could be a civilian and walk around, but have a set distance as to how close to the fighting they could get.

Other than that, no need for civilians. They all probably would have fled the impending doom. :p

With Sharpsburg so close to the nucleus of the fighting, even including Burnside's men getting to the outskirts of the town, there were civilians present during the battle, at least 1 was even killed. However, in the game they don't really add much.

The whole idea sounds like a lot of work for the devs, with very little dividend.

Besides, who wants to play a citizen in a war game ? :D

How would this even work? And who would even want to play as one?

They'd end up just trolling, like if you've ever played project Reality in that all the Civillians do is run around trying to get shot because if they do whoever shot them will get a ticket penalty and have a far longer wait in the spawn queue.

Guerillas I could see (like an Army walking into an abandoned town then taking Pot-Shots from one of the buildings) but other than spying on the enemy and being annoying, I can't see much of a role for civillians.

I'd like to see civilian clothing as part of uniform items, but to actually play as civilians... Eh. It'd be interesting as you say the spectator mode, but yeah... Too much work for not enough in return. Let's not let dimes hold up dollars.

Wouldn't there have been civilians at Harper's Ferry? Everyone seems to forget that Sharpsburg is the only map this game will have.

Well, I guess that's a big no for civilians then.

Instead, maybe the devs should add another funding goal which unlocks a mini-game called "Civilian Rush and Panic" where you have to hurry to pack your belongings and flee town before the battle begins. No? ;)

Can't see the benefit of civilians to me sure they are historical but I'd rather get an extra 100 players than waste processing power on bots that don't do anything
