So being on this hype train, I've watched the kickstarter video quite a few times! Notice at 3:07 into the video, the charging man that looks like Hinkel's Avatar gets John Wayned!

It was the day the 17th of September 1862 where Hinkel was shot, or atleast we thought. Hinkel woke up later on the bridge, with an extreme headache after that faceplant, but other than that he was fine. He was wondering why he wasn't bleeding and was looking around to find out why. He found his weapon on the ground, broken by the bullet which should've killed him.

Hinkel survived until the 17th of October 1862, a month after the incident. The reason of his death was because of some bad sauerkraut that Hinkel got a week earlier. RIP

Also, I second the vote to keep Hinkel's gravestone in the game. Please.... Pleaaaaaase..... It will be such an inside joke and it will make me happy every time I see it... no offense Hinkel :D

Hinkel ain't dead. After watching the vid several times I have come to the conclusion that he dodged the ball as nobody hits the dirt that hard after being shot. He used the Force to dodge the ball and played possum till he was passed over and went behind the lines to rape, pillage, and plunder. Lots of good looking women in Maryland. I'm sure he had a good time :)
