BATTALION STATUS:
Mustering at Capital Square Grounds, Richmond County, Richmond, VirginiaCALLING ON ALL SONS OF ERIN IN RICHMOND AND HANOVER COUNTIES TO FULFILL THEIR DUTY
The 1st Virginia Infantry Battalion (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/macsbastards) (<-- Click for Steam Group), has been instructed on this day, April 17th, 1861, by the Virginian Legislature and Thomas J. Jackson to raise a Battalion of men. All able-bodied males, living in the Virginian counties of Richmond and Hanover, whom are of Irish decent are instructed to Enlist immediately; for this, our second war of independence. Men of the Valley, Citizen-Soldiers: On April 15th in the year of our Lord 1861, Simon Cameron, the Secretary of War of the United States sent a telegram to the Virginian Governor, John Letcher, instructing him to raise three regiments of infantry to be sent to assist in suppressin' the southern confederacy. His wire in Washington stated, "You have chosen to inaugurate civil war. And having done so, we will meet you in a spirit as determined as the Lincoln Administration has exhibited toward the South." Two days later, the Virginia Legislature held a second vote for secession that passed. Just as we would not send any of our soldiers to march in other states and tyrannize other people, so will we never allow the armies of others march into our State and tyrannize our people. It is not with a light heart that many within the Battalion have left the Union, most of us have been Union men our whole lives, had our neighbors to the North practiced a less bellicose form of persuasion, perhaps this day might have not come. BUT that day has been THRUST upon us, like it was THRUST upon our ancestors! We stand as the first line of defense, for not only our state of Virginia, but the rest of this newly formed Confederacy. In the spirit of '76 we must hold firm, we must drill efficiently - tirelessly, and we must hold that line! Sons of Erin, the flag of independence has been raised, and the side of the right has called us to action! Honor the call. "Sirs, you have no reason to be ashamed of your Confederate dead; see to it they have no reason to be ashamed of you."

This Battalion is for the purpose of emulating a real Confederate Battalion; (Realism) the 1st Battalion of Virginian Regulars in particular. You are expected to be active, mature and well disciplined. We pride ourselves in keeping all unit activities well-organized. We follow Chain of Command, as well as our own Handbook (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BX5gcZtbhK_OtXJvONlTFPwkeE6Uby_2bYJck9pG7wQ/edit?usp=sharing), and operate on and off the Battlefield as a Civil War Battalion would have. We have Basic Combat Training for new recruits so that they may learn commands and how the Battalion as a whole operates. We have also incorporated Staff Offices within our Battalion allowing Non-Commissioned Officers and Enlisted men to serve the Battalion in other ways off the Battlefield. In order for you to be able to advance up the ranks (beyond Private), you must show that you are capable of following orders, helping others in and out of game, making constructive suggestions and have a good understanding of the tactics and commands used. It is also necessary that you are active on the War of Rights forums, and on Steam, but most important is your overall activity within the Battalion.

The Battalion is about a sense of community in addition to realism. You are going to be held to a higher standard of maturity and activity in our Battalion. Our members earn additional rank by participating and helping run the unit, not through individual skill. And while we remain competitive, we place a higher premium on teamwork, participation, and a sense of community. If you want to be apart of a brotherhood/sisterhood of gamers who thrive on dedication, discipline, and teamwork, then this is the place for you. We are continuing to grow by the day. If you join up, you will be rolled into our Cadet Platoon (BCT), and be issued the following: a Lee Enfield Pattern 1853 .577 caliber rifled musket, a Richmond Depot #1 Jacket, a pair of grey/brown trousers, a forage cap, a pair of brogans, leathers (including cartridge box, cap pouch and a belt with a VA buckle), canteen, three days rations, and a knapsack for personal belongings. The program will cover tactics and provide an introduction to how the Battalion works. The emphasis in Training is the Platoon and Company. No matter your own skill level, you will need to get used to relying on others and following orders. If you are interested in joining the 1st Battalion of Virginia and want to know more about who we are and what we do, then add Captain MacMillan (http://steamcommunity.com/id/cmacmillan/) (<-- Click for CO's Steam Profile) on Steam for details.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z368/BWToombs/code.png

Code: As it has already been mentioned, we are aiming to represent one of the finest Battalions that existed, therefore our members must meet our etiquette. If a member is to do well within the Battalion they must do their best to follow the Code of Conduct. Following this will lead to promotions if the member is proficient enough to do the task;

1. They must be respectful to everyone no matter the circumstance. This may be fellow members or players out with the Battalion. This also covers insulting someone, racism, retaliation in-game, bullying, trolling and discrimination. At all times you are representing the Battalion and must show the highest level of maturity.

2. They must follow orders. This is extremely vital as you must follow orders given by your Commanding Officer or Superior, and must be done so without argument or hesitation. If you don't agree with the tactics being used by your Superior there is a time and place to bring your point forward. During events is not the time and you must respect their decisions.

3. They must learn and train to become proficiently skilled soldier in tactics as well as skill.

4. They must remain active to be a useful contributer to the Battalion, attend trainings and events when you can and if not please inform us so that we know.

5. Extreme behavior and discipline is to be shown at all times no matter where you are. During linebattles there is to be no head banging, fidgeting in line and aiming your weapon at a teammate. Members must use the Permission To Speak (PTS) system during events if requested by the commander. This is to avoid anyone speaking over the Commanding Officer when commands are being given and PTS must not be abused. During linebattles the main chat is not be used by anyone except the Commander.

Commander's History: Hello, my name is Captain MacMillan, leader of C Company. I have been participating in line warfare over the past 8 years online - from Battlegrounds 2, Mount and Musket, and Secession to Napoleonic Wars, North and South, and now War of Rights. Outside of computers, I reenact - Civil War reenacting. I have been doing this for 10 years now, and hold the rank of First Sergeant in the 2nd South Carolina. I was voted into this position after being voted into the positions of Sergeant (3 Years Time in Service) and Corporal (2 Years Time in Service) I have also fought with the Irish Brigade, and the 24th Michigan whilst reenacting. Whether you plan to fall in with us Confeds, or you go over to the Federal side, I look forward to seeing you all out on the battlefield. Godspeed Gentlemen.

Teamspeak 3 is an extremely important for the Battalion. It is imperative that every member of the Battalion has Teamspeak as it is needed for communication. The Battalion cannot function without this, therefore it is a requirement that every member has it. Rules for in game still apply on Teamspeak. This is very important during events - off topic and unneeded chat will not be allowed. Members must also remain, going by our values, mature and respectful at all times.

Just so you know WoR is going to have VOIP so Teamspeak isn't going to be needed.

Also, I don't know what the etiquette with being in multiple-companies is, but if it's fine I might join up.

Dear Celt,

To answer your question regarding our communications. I know there will be voice chat in the game, but in order to keep our communications as open as possible, I will be asking people who join the Battalion to use Teamspeak. From what I've seen, commanders of the Company will use voice chat in game - PTS's and lower rank chat will be through TS.

As for joining our Battalion, we'd have to have a discussion as to what your other regiment is requiring. I'm not opposed, but I can't answer the question until we talk about it in more detail

Godspeed,

You do realize that picture is of the 10th Tennessee Infantry Regiment correct? To someone who actually does their homework on the unit of which they choose this looks rather....yeeeeaahh. And the straight from Wikipedia history....Could you not find any accurate history such as battle honors? A banner with less clearly defined identity I think would be a smart choice. And why are you reserving 2 companies when you have 9 members?

Dear Rice,

If you are going to be negative and you can take that attitude elsewhere. If you find an awesome picture of the 1st Virginia, be sure to let me know. All I can find are stinkin' photographs. As for the 2 Company question, we are a NA/EU unit. We are growing pretty fast as well, so I'd like a NA Company and EU Company. Seeing as we're up to 10 members in 4 days, I think that we'll be in pretty good shape come game time.

The European picket was due to drill and event tonight. Very Disappointed by the turn out. We're going to have to look at cutting names from the roster if this trend continues.

The drills are as much for a warm up for the events as anything else so unless you let us know ahead of time you can't make it, that's really bad. I normally have steam on so I messaged very easily.

Please contact me or MacMillian and make us aware of your status going forward. I really want to hear some communication before drills next week.

- Private Krog

Under request of some of the members who are currently handling personal matters for a time; we have created the "Reserve Platoon" for those on LOA.

The following have been transferred to Reserve Platoon:

This is a battalion wide drill and event meaning all EU and NA players will all be able to participate. Remember if you can not make it to drills and/or the events to tell your Picket leader so they may inform MacMillan. Attendance is mandatory for all EU and NA players.

First Sergeant Charles MacMillan - 1st Virginia Infantry

Men of Erin,

It has come to my attention that there have been a few qualms within the Battalion. Please remember to use Chain of Command. If you have a problem with a Private go to a Sergeant or Corporal. If you have a problem with a Corporal go to a Sergeant. If you have a problem with a Sergeant go to the First Sergeant. If you cannot reach the First Sergeant then send me a message. I am always available even if I am not online. I have the Steam App on my phone and I have Teamspeak on my phone. I don't want to hear people talking about these issues publicly - let Command Staff resolve the issue. If you will not follow CoC then Demerits will begin being issued.

On a side note - hope the week has started off well for all you chaps. See you at mandatory Thursday drills. All who have not checked in for excuses will be issued a Demerit for "Failure to Attend".

Very pleased with attendance tonight, besides the names listed above we had cadets that weren't in the battle but were in the teamspeak. Currently it's looking like last week was just a hiccup and that we'll be back to our regular strength again. By the time War of Rights is in full swing we'll be a well oiled machine.

Well said Sergeant; I am very pleased with the Battalion as a whole as well. We are not only performing better in Linebattles, but the Battalion as a whole is able to grow and mature together. I feel as though I have learned as much from the NCO's and Privates as I have taught them. I am very grateful to the Enlisted and Non-Coms for making this Battalion what it is.

So let me see if I have this correct: your using the War of Rights forum page to recruit and list all your info for NaS events? You do know there is a forum for that as well as the fact that you should be using a Steam group page for all this.
Lets keep this forum for WoR's related information, please. Not trying to be snippy but this seems in bad taste to me.

Dear Mr. Baker,

You do with your thread as you wish, we will do with our thread as we wish. This is part of laying down the brickwork for realism going into WoR. It is all Civil War related, so I don't see what the issue is? We use the Steam group for Battalion information and Announcements remind Enlisted there are drills or events. The NaS forums - Taleworlds and FlyingSquirrel are #1. basically dead - and #2. even if we did use them, we'd have to transfer all the information from the other forum, which doesn't make much sense now does it? We have Personnel Files to keep track of Promotions, Statistics, and Demerits. Without the forum however, we would have no way of relaying the information to the rest of the Battalion. This is WoR related in every aspect - what ranks people will be moving into the Alpha, Beta and regular game; what is happening within the Battalion, Applications, and LineBattle reports which will eventually be done through WoR. I see nothing wrong with preparing and getting a system in place. If you don't like what is posted on this thread - got some news for ya - you don't have to look at the thread! Sounds like a personal issue to me. Do what you wish with your thread - and have a nice day!

2nd Lieutenant MacMillan,

As people now say "you keep doing you." I really enjoy reading your forum since it sorta feels like a news report or of the like. Captain Baker/Castile, don't look at this as an "only 1st VA page," but rather one where we of all companies and regiments can view this and have an insight of how things are being run, as if we're continuously keeping track of our fellow Confederates. I feel like things like this can actually strengthen relationships between companies (mostly for the Confederacy) instead of destroying and entire community. Maybe more people should be doing this instead.

With God's Grace,

Men of Erin,

The Company was mustered tonight and fully prepared to do it's duty in service of the Confederate States of America. However, conflicting orders from higher up the command chain about where to march to and the location of the battlefield meant the Company was left out of place and out of position, resulting in us missing the battle! Tonight's victor is the fog of war.

(In reality: The company abandoned an event tonight out of protest of a chronic mishandling of an event. The admin for the night, after the event was due to start, changed the map so many times over the course of 10 or 15 minutes he managed to crash the server. The entire event was in chaos. At this point the company decided further drilling upon our own server would be more productive)

Right so after deliberation I'm going to ask you guys to halt posting your after action reports etc. on this forums and ask that you take it to the official North and South boards on FSE.

The stuff that you are posting is NOT related to War of Rights and does not relate to WoRs at all. The post by Celt ranting about the event simply enforces this. This decision is NOT up for discussion.

First Sergeant MilitantMonkey
Co. F, 1st Texas Infantry Regiment

Dear First Sergeant Militant,

Thank you for your kind words. I really enjoyed it as well while it lasted. Due to the recent circumstances we will be moving After Action Reports to our Forums/Website which will be set up shortly. You, as well as anyone else is welcome to register an account and keep up to date on the 1st Battalion. I will keep everyone posted as to when the site is up and running.

- Bravescot, EU Moderator

Dear Bravescot,

The 1st Battalion will hereby stop posting After Action Reports for North and South on this thread. I would however like the above post, as well as the post on page 9 about staying out of NaS removed from the thread. I do not appreciate the negativity on a thread I have spent countless hours working on. It is not needed, nor welcome here.

Men of Erin,

A new order has been seen fit to be put into place by 2nd Lieutenant MacMillan. Every two weeks after Thursday events and Command Staff Meetings, there will now be a Lower Non-Com Meeting. This means all Corporals in the Battalion are required to show up, we understand if the EU Corporal(s) can not make it. As for NA Corporal(s), you should all be able to make it. If not, you know the drill, put in an excuse as to why you can not make it. These meetings start this week. After the Command Staff Meeting, you will be asked to stay and will be put into Winters' tent. We will then proceed to talk about things you have seen in the Battalion. Who should get a promotion, how your Sergeants are doing, etc. I hope to see the following there this Thursday.

Head of Meeting:

Cpl. Winters

Those Required to Go:

Cpl. Ashby
Cpl. Payne
Those Who May Attend:

Mus. Mainard

Godspeed,

Men of the First Battalion,

We have almost completed our overhaul to the new forums. I ask that all of you register an account on our new forums so as to get all the news on the Battalion. It is VERY important that you message Command Staff once you have registered so we can give you permissions on the forums. This allows you to see all of the topics and posts that apply to you. I would also like to add that we have added a 20 track music player that runs continuously on the forum. It is not set on "Auto-Play" so if you'd like to use it, you have to press the "Play" button. It has automatically been put into shuffle mode, so hopefully you won't hear the same song every single time you log on. Hope to see all of you registered before Thursday - if not, Demerits will be handed out.

It is with pleasure that I welcome our newest Cadet, Mr. Eric to our beloved Battalion.

You have been enrolled in the Cadet Platoon. In order to graduate from the platoon, a Cadet must attend both 2 Drills and 2 Events. Upon completion of the requirement, the Cadet will be promoted to the rank of Private on the Sunday proceeding the completion of said requirements. You will then be placed among the ranks of the Enlisted, and be assigned a Picket.

Dear BloodBeag,

The Maryland Campaign took place between September the 4th, to September the 20th, 1862. The 1st Battalion of Virginians was a part of the Army of Northern Virginia, Second Corps, Jackson's Division, Jones' Brigade. I would like to state that we are indeed a unit that will be in the game. I would like to reference you to the following links:

A battle map depicting the position of Jones' Brigade on the morning of Antietam: Here (http://antietam.aotw.org/maps.php?map_number=1) (Bottom left by Brockenbrough and Raine's Batteries, and to the north of Hampton's Legion.)

An account of the evening in which Jones' Brigade took part in some fighting: Here (http://antietam.aotw.org/tablet.php?tablet_id=3340)

"On the evening of September 16, Jones' Brigade formed line on the left of Winder's, its right about 130 yards west of this, its left extending nearly to the West Woods. Skirmishers were advanced about 250 to 275 yards and became slightly engaged and the Brigade came under an annoying artillery fire. In this position it was attacked by Doubleday's Division early in the morning of the 17th, and, after more than a half hour's hard fighting, was forced back to the line held by the Brigades of Starke and Taliaferro. It was re-formed and, with Winder's Brigade, supported the advance of Starke's and Taliaferro's Brigades a half hour later, but was again compelled to retire. Supported by Early's brigade of Ewell's Division, the entire Division again advanced and again fell back and reformed beyond the West Woods, where it supported the attack of McLaws' Division on Sedgwick's Federal Division."

As well as an overview for the Battalion as a whole during Antietam: Here (http://antietam.aotw.org/officers.php?unit_id=603)

I have only been able to find one reported casualty for the Battalion from the battle of Antietam, so I didn't think it was worth mentioning. However, it is listed atop the Battalion's information on this thread what the placement of our Battalion was historically. We are in Jackson's Division which took part, though much of it in reserve, in the Maryland Campaign.

Otherwise people, such as myself, will think you've made a battalion(company) for battles that might not be in the game

Men of Erin,

I would like to congratulate both Cadets on graduating from the Cadet Program. You have both been assigned a Platoon and Picket, and are now placed among the ranks of the Enlisted. This promotion also means that the Battalion Command Staff feels as though you have a good enough understanding of what is required of you once you join the ranks of the Enlisted. It is now your own responsibility to remember to post Drill Excuses and to stay active and up to date on both forums. Not doing so will result in Demerits.

*_Thread Updated_*

The 1st Virginia Infantry Battalion (<-- Click for Steam Group), has been instructed on this day, April 17th, 1861, by the Virginian Congress and Thomas J. Jackson to raise a Battalion of men. All able bodied men, living in the Virginia counties of Richmond and Hanover, of Irish decent are instructed to Enlist immediately; for this, our second war for independence. Men of the valley, citizen-soldiers: On April 15th in the year of our lord 1861, Simon Cameron, the Secretary of War for the United States sent a telegram to the Virginian Governor, John Letcher, instructing him to raise three regiments of infantry to be sent to assist in suppressin' the southern confederacy. It is not with a light heart that any within the Battalion have left the Union, had our neighbors to the North practiced a less bellicose form of persuasion, perhaps this day might have not come. BUT that day has been THRUST upon us, like it was THRUST upon our ancestors! We stand as the first line of defense, for not only Virginia, but the rest of this newly formed Confederacy. In the spirit of '76 - we must hold firm, we must drill effectively and tirelessly, and we must hold that line! Sons of Erin, the flag of independence has been raised, and the side of the right has called us to action! Honor the call.

Honor the call! Add me on Steam if you're interested in joining the 1st Virginia Battalion. Just click the button below :)

The men of the Battalion will be able to customize their soldier within reason. There will be certain options that the Command Staff will deem unacceptable - but for the most part we will allow and promote our Enlisted members to be creative with their personas :)

Sadly yes, but baggy pants, Richmond Depot #1/#2 will be allowed, plus any civilian textured pants that are included in the game. Just no multicolored pants or pants that are specific to other Confederate regiments/military organizations.

Hopefully you decide to join up and we can see what we can do for ya in terms of pants ;)

Ok so I have a lot of questions I want to ask before I write an application. I apologize if it is a lot, I just want to know as much as possible before making a commitment to the group.

If acceptable, could my real name be used as my battalion name? Or is a different name required?

If for whatever reason I can't show up for events and drill for two or three weeks in a row, will this count as a demerit? (not saying it will happen, but you never know)

If there is some form of voice chat in game, will cadets/privates be allowed to use this, or does it need to be "quiet among the ranks?"

Finally, will companies C and D act as independent units in events (or even outside of events), or is it all one unit?

Sorry for the long post, I just really want to know as much as possible before committing :D Cheers

No worries man - I want to make sure this is the right fit for you as well! No point in joining a group if it won't work out for ya :)

1. Yes your real name or any realistic alias is acceptable for the Battalion - just no Private Captain America and shit

2. You are allowed to miss any Drill (for your timezone) as long as you post an excuse. Since you are from Texas that would mean Thursdays and Sundays. Fridays you are automatically excused seeing as it is a European event. If you will be gone longer than we a week, we have a system in place called a "Leave of Absence" you will be sent to the Reserves for that period of time and are not required to check in at all until the date you post as the end of the LOA is reached.

3. Privates and Cadets are allowed to speak during a line battle or an event if they say "PTS" (Permission to Speak) and it is granted by an officer. During Events there are exceptions to this rule ex. You're bleeding out, the enemy is danger close, or you have to leave for whatever reason. Out of game you are allowed to speak whenever you'd like - PTS is only in effect during the 2 hour Drill/Event time period.

4. Companies C and D will have their own respective chain of commands but will be part of the Battalion as a whole. We may split up the Companies for Events if attendance is good enough. The primary purpose for two Companies is we eventually want to have a North American Co. and a European Co. Therefore there can be equal rank distribution throughout the community, and will allow for the Co.'s to operate independently for the most part.

Hope this answers most of your questions - if you need some clarification or have more questions don't hesitate to ask. I'm glad to be of help anytime :)

Sincerely,

Captain Mac

Men of Erin,

Announcement:

The Battalion has been growing very rapidly in size. Due to the recent circumstances, the Battalion Officers as well as myself, have seen fit to check in with everyone and get their schedules. We believe it will allow for better attendance among the ranks - and allow for the Battalion as a whole to determine what the best schedule would be; by majority for all of us. Everyone who has posted an application for the 1st Battalion of Virginia, so that means Cadet and above, must fill out this form. The form is due by Thursday before North American Drills next week. Schedule changes will ensue the following week - allowing enough time for the Battalion staff to go over the poll results and create a schedule. Again - click the link below, fill out the form and post your response. All responses are due by next Thursday - no exceptions. Anyone who does not submit a response, or does so in an untimely fashion will be issued a Demerit. Men of the Battalion - thank you all for your time and extra little effort put in to making this Battalion operate better than it ever has before.
Link to the poll: http://doodle.com/poll/mu4mvyuhamd5dwvh
NOTE: All times in the poll are scaled to your own respective timezone - fill it out accordingly.

Correct except drill is 45 minutes and the event is an hour - there is a ten to fifteen minute break in between drill and event to make sure people can grab a drink, use the bathroom, etc.

Men of Erin,

First of all, I'd like to thank the Battalion for their response to the Doodle link; most of you did it in a very timely manner - and it has allowed myself to filter down times to discuss with the Company Staff. We will have a new schedule starting next Monday (4/18/16 or for you Euros 18/04/16). It looks like we are going to dispose of the Battalion wide drill and Event and instead have 2-3 Drills/Events for each region per week. Seeing as I did not post one last week, and all the promotions for this week and last have already been handed out, I figured I'd post the General Order today. I'd like to congratulate both Cadets on completing their Basic Training very quickly. Both Cadet Beckman and Cadet Douglas have shown they understand the commands, expectations, and how the Battalion functions. So here's to Private Beckman and Private Douglas! I'd also like to say that over the past few weeks Mr. Gerald Cunningham has shown his renewed dedication to the Battalion, has attended drills and events consistently, and has once again shown himself to be a leader. Congrats on Corporal, Mr. Cunningham! Finally, I would like to say a temporary farewell to Corporal Payne as he is going to the Reserves due to his LOA, however; Corporal Ben is rejoining us and will take Corporal Payne's old position as First Corporal in the First Section. Hope to see you back soon Corporal Payne, and welcome back Corporal Ben!

By the way, if anyone is struggling to come up with a "historic" name while signing up, here are some some common Irish surnames from the era (since this unit had a lot of Irish):

http://www.irishgenealogical.org/page/igsi-links-100-most-common-surnames

What historic name you pick is totally up to your discretion, and it can be anything within reason, from any background. This is just tool for people who feel a bit rudderless.

Dear Second Lieutenant Browne,

Thank you for the very informative and helpful post - I have added it to the forum page under the Enlistment Application spoiler, so if people want to apply and feel stuck picking a name, the link is right there for them.

Men of Erin,

This is an announcement that Medals will become available to the Battalion for Personnel to earn coming soon! We've been working tirelessly on Medal Racks in preparation for the list of medals one can earn (accompanied with the criteria for earning them). Everyone within the Battalion will be given a Medal Rack once the Medal List and Criteria are sorted out - in the meantime, here's a teaser!

So here's to Private Smith! I would also like to welcome Private McTavish back from his leave of absence. You were missed, and we're very glad to have you back! I would also like to announce the creation of a new section! 2nd Section, the old European section has be re-designated as the new North American 2nd Section. The Europeans have now been transferred over to 3rd Section, but with the exact same placement as before. We hope to soon have a North American and a European Platoon before moving on to regional Co.'s! A lot is on the horizon for us. We have had 5 more applicants this week, 3 more people have pledged to War of Rights, and we're are starting to perform pretty well whilst in the line of duty. Huzzah for the First Battalion! Thank you to everyone who has helped in creating this into what it is, and the time and effort that has been put into our Battalion.

= The 1stVA had about 42 guys signed up for WoR and the 23rdNC had 42 signed up as well I was planing on doing a name change since I was 23rdNC a long time and well we looked at his unit and thought well they have the same numbers and were set up the almost exact way we were and had the same historical mindset as we did so we all merged into them . Also when all of the 23rdNC do join 1st VA we will be the the biggest if not the best on the C.S side.

Men of Erin,
Due to recent events that have transpired in my life, making my life ever more complicated, I will be taking a two week leave of absence from the Battalion. I have already instructed First Lieutenant Brown, First Sergeant Bo, and Quartermaster Sergeant Winters along with his staff as to their duties while I am gone. I expect everyone in the Battalion show them the same respect you have shown me. They are the inferior officers, and non-coms of this Battalion - thus making them an extension of myself. You know what this means lads; discipline, respect, talking when approved and the like. I expect a outstanding report when I get back gentlemen. Every man now knows his duty, and I trust that you will all fulfill it in my absence.

Gentlemen,
Just wanted to give you an update in case you're wondering what's going on. Unfortunately I've been hit by a bad case of the flu/a throat infection which, amongst other things, has left me not really able to speak at length. This caused me to miss last night's meeting and will see me out of action again today. My apologies about this. I don't know if MacMillan has returned from his leave yet but in any event I hope to have recovered by this Sunday, and hope to restore things back to working order by then.

Men of Erin,

As many of the men in the Battalion know, I have been on a Leave of Absence due to a family emergency and a housing situation. I really hope all you lads have been doing well and taking care of yourselves. Oh, and killing a Yankee or three. I will be returning from Leave as soon as my new room is setup and I figure out how to get my connection working well (est. middle-end of next week). I would also like to send my sincerest thanks to Lieutenant Celt, First Sergeant Bo, and Quartermaster Sergeant Winters for keeping this running in my absence. If all the NCO's and Staff could contact me that'd be most appreciated.

Men of Erin,

Our chain of command is calling for a staff meeting - Thursday at 6 EST. Attendance is mandatory for ranks Cpl and above unless you have been given express permission from myself or the Captain. As you know there has been a lot of stuff going on in the company and a lot of us have been away on vacation or off playing other games. However we would like to hold this meeting so that we can discus everything that has been happening over these past few weeks. Also about the captain-major release of war of rights, this opens up more opportunities to grow as a company. Anyone whom is not an NCO or officer you are encouraged to join this meeting as well.

Men of Erin,

As many of the men in the Battalion know, I had to go inactive for a very long time due to serious personal and familial issues. I am currently in a place where I can once again help in leading this glorious company - and it looks as though I have turned out just in the nick of time for battles! Any and everyone who is interested in helping make this Co. what I know it can be, message me on Steam, the Steam Group or over PM's here. I am currently unsure if I will be able to lead this Co. how I used too - but that will be discussed at a later date.

Men of Erin,

It has been known that this Battalion has been very inactive and that most members have disbanded from the 1st Battalion of Virginia Regulars. However I am very proud to announce that we are back in action. Captain MacMillan and myself have been preparing for a relaunch of the Battalion. We will be semi-active until the full beta of War of Rights is released. However we will be more active than we have been recently! Sound the bugles and the fifes as the 1st Battalion of Virginia Regulars is back in action.

Announcements:
The 1st Battalion of Virginia Regulars is ACTIVE once again!
New Recuitment Application must be filled out by current and new members for administration purposes,
Semi-active until full beta release of War of Rights,
Administration will be looking over all paperwork and throwing out the old,
MacMillan and Winters will be looking into a new training schedule as well as a new event schedule,
Administration will be looking over all current ranks, accommodations, and strikes of all previous/current members,
Questions can be asked by anyone by adding Second Lieutenant Winters on Steam,
Old members will HAVE to tell either MacMillan or Winters they wish to remain in the Battalion, as the Battalion will be purged of inactive members as well as the steam page and our private forums,
We are happy to be back and hope that we have a fun and quick recovery from being inactive for so long.

"Sic Semper Tyrannis!"

Your Administrative Officer,

Second Lieutenant M. Winters - 1st Virginia Infantry
