What do you mean by series?

There are tons of good drama series with historical accuracy but slight edits for entertainment purposes

I'm currently watching Hell on Wheels, Black Sails (really need to get caught up), and Narcos as far as historical series' go. Sharpe was the shit, I'm just disappointed it hasn't got a good US release. I'll probably be importing the UK blu-ray set at some point.

I am have watched Black Sails up to the end of series 2, really enjoyed it even though it is not well produced. I have all the sharpe series on dvd at home although haven't watched all of them as of yet. Currently watching Turn which is quite fun to watch.

I'm quite honestly surprised no one has mentioned the Horatio Hornblower series. It's one running along the same era as Sharpe's Rifles.

Based on the Royal Navy during late 1700s & early 1800s. Great series if you haven't seen it, and interested in naval stuff, of course :D.

Litte fact about Hornblower and Sharpe because there is a connection.

Bernard Cornwell, author of the Sharpe Series, loved Hornblower very much and so he searched for a similar series but only about the british army. He didnt find anything so he decided to write it by his own.

Horatio Hornblower and Sharpe are definitely classics. I only hope more shows are developed in the future that share similar qualities to those. :o

Not a mini-series but I came across this one by Logan Fulton on youtube while looking something else up. Very well done.
