Much happiness here :D
Can't wait to see it in action! Now, I wonder how each team will pick their General? Will there be a voting system I wonder :P
That seems a bit.. tacky. I like the idea of dehydration effects from overexertion and a sip from a canteen could speed up recovery, as long as it's realistic, which might not be possible as water...
I expanded on a map idea in this thread, along with some other ideas. It's a bit of a read, but would be nice to have any input you can give :)
See that to me sounds too complicated for this game. But something in between this and pushing 1 button would be nice. Especially with added benefit of manually loading it quickly for a slightly...
I know of a few different games that either stopped or didn't include Australian servers, and in all those cases they quite quickly lost all of their Aus/NZ player base reasonably fast. Hopefully...
Can anyone tell me when the pledging will finish? And will the final pledge date be announced in advance?
It's very hard getting starting out in this game. I'm a decent player in most fps and hack and slash games like War of the Roses, and have played a lot of single player warband (plus a little online)...
They were still used though. And they would've been absolutely crucial for Officers
How is it that I keep seeing messages from people saying cavalry wasn't a big part of this campaign? On both sides (esp Union) there were whole cavalry companies (as well as scouts or mounted...
Always +1 to realism. Flag bearers could be made to work well. Although I've been told they ruled out runners, having a runner was one of the smaller suggestions I added here:...
I hope they listen to us here. It's a majority yes, and I think the ones against it would come around if it was implemented properly. And if it does put off a lot of players they could just implement...
Yeah, I'd agree with what R21 said too. If people hate that idea so much, you could have the option to toggle between manual or, automatic with a slightly slower (but consistent) reload time. It...
So realism isn't fun for you? Would've been nice for a soldier to sit back and take a sip of his coffee while his musket reloaded for him
Another thing that came to mind with key reloading is you could get a line reloading each step (if broken into 3 segments) all at exactly the same time, even closer in sync than one button reload....
Possibly a way to cheat it would be for only the Officers and Generals to have VOIP. I'm not sure exactly how servers work but something like that may lighten server traffic and would be practical....
Will the Henry Rifle be in game at all? If so, I'm guessing it would have to be extremely limited, so how would limitations be applied? I've seen mention of the Henry Rifle, but not a lot of...

Another good thread about that here too :)
Yeah, I'm a bit of a hired gun tbh :P

In the end if the realism remains the focus with the devs (which I really hope it does) it will work regardless. There will be no need of forcing players to play a certain way, as those players that...
Yeah, shaking due to cold would be so wicked.. It'd be the games own hardcore mod! I realise this would be waay down the line of importance if at all. I really believe this game could take off...
+1
Maybe not to the point of lightning causing fires to trees, but I really like the idea of storms in the background to a battle, and in general, the weather playing a big role. Muddy battles have...
Opps, over my head :p I could understand it being a really good scout tower for the General
Directed how? You mean aim down spyglass and click to mark target, and automatic barrage happens? Or do you mean scouted, and voiced back to a player based artillery unit for them to manually fire?
