I am a level and a game designer so I'm not really a part of the actual development of artillery except for having a part in designing its mechanics.

The arty update is also going to be including stuff that is not tied directly to artillery instead of just artillery as a direct consequence of this.

Are the hitboxes improved on the new trees? I have found hitting someone straight-on, even when they are partially exposed behind a tree, is almost impossible.
Yes the proxy/collision mesh of the new trees is much improved.

I agree - we want it out there at least as much as you guys.

It's progressing but there are still some features that need to be completed such as being able to support having different ammo types available in the limber chest as well as having at least some placeholder sounds implemented for it (sounds always come last as they require the setup to be basically game ready before one can start producing them to match it all) as well as some bugs/exploits that need fixing up such as being able to negate the recoil of the cannons, etc.

Thanks for the answers... Wondering if I can squeeze you for just a pinch more info.

Will accurately using shells require referencing a Table Of Fire from the limber chest?

Most likely not in the initial release. Accuracy, deadliness, etc. is something that will be built upon using the input from you guys over several artillery related updates.

For the waiting, some artillery uniforms

Its a mixture of Light and Regular batteries.

    Some more information regarding uniforms:
We will have over +40 batteries in the first initial release of the artillery. Its not possible to give every battery a unique uniform right now.
Thats why there are 4 sets of uniforms for each army so far.

For the Confederacy, the batteries which belong to the Washington Artillery will have a special uniform, which differ from the regular or light battery uniforms.
For the Union, there is a set for the more western state units like Kentucky, Illinious or Ohio. There will also be a set of uniforms for New York and US Regular batteries as well.
The uniforms will get extended over time, like we did in the past

Whiting's Battery for a future occasion? Zouave uniforms on a battery would be sexy even if it was only available for drill camp and historical mode

I think we showed them in the field report
Some stuff is missing, which would make them more unique.

My favorite depiction of John Pelham and J.E.B. Stuart. I own a Bible similar to the one Pelham is carrying in this painting.

A painting depicting JEB Stuart, Jim Breathed (looking through binoculars), and John Pelham during the Fredericksburg campaign.

Some Washington Artillery stuff... There was also a Washington Artillery battery in the Western theatre.
