Confederate Order of Battle Company Overview

The link that follows should take you to a spreadsheet that you can view that has been created for a couple of purposes.

These Orders list every regiment that was part of the Army of Northern Virginia that was involved in the Maryland Campaign. The listing then has companies A - K (except J) listed. In each cell where you see an "X" it indicates that the webpages on this site have been read and checked against the official rosters of the campaign.

I have notated in the original spreadsheet who created what company and the date of formation, so if there are more than one group claiming a company name, you members can PM me and I will let you know who to contact so you can work out arrangements.

There is also, if you scroll down far enough, links where these rosters were found and below that, a revision and revision date as more companies are formed and added to the charts. I will be updating as I see the changes. Also below these links, starts a second chart which lists all the companies that are formed for the Confederate forces that are not officially associated with the Orders of Battle for Antietam. This doesn't make you wrong.

Good list, but I have to correct you on something, the 1st La is not the 1st LA regiment its the 1st La Zouave Battalion (Coppens Zouaves)

    Joseph C. McKenzie, 20th Georgia Infantry, July 15, 1861 - October 1, 1863

    Henry C. McKenzie, 3rd Georgia Infantry, June 1, 1861 - January 28, 1863

Charles R. Beddingfield, 38th Alabama Infantry

    Samuel L. Cowart, Cobb's Legion

You missed my guys We are Companies C & D - 1st Virginia Infantry Battalion - Jones' Brigade (there was a type-o; you put Jone's Brigade; there were two actual Jone's who actually spelled it like that - Jone's Division and Jone's Battery, but the Brigade commander's name was Jones so it would be grammatically correct to spell it Jones') - Jackson's Division - Second Corps - Army of Northern Virginia

    Companies C & D - 1st Virginia Infantry Battalion - Jones' Brigade - Jackson's Division - Second Corps - Army of Northern Virginia

Good work on the spreadsheet Mr. Hill

My Bad, I was staring at my phone for the company information ... and using the computer for the spreadsheet, I went batshit blind staring at the 4 inch phone screen.

I think they'll be able to make the companies but in-game they'll have to use the models and name of a different unit unless the devs suddenly surprise everyone with a load of new campaigns

Well they have said that for now the company tool will only allow those companies that fought in that campaign. The only way round it would be to make a temp company till there official ones released.

The 1st Sc Volunteers in Jenkins Brigade is incorrect, you probably put it like that not to confuse it with the other 1st SC Infantry's but just saying, its 1st SC Infantry, there was like 3 or 4 1st SC infantry's
