Man, my mouth is watering thinking about artillery in War of Rights man... I want to see something trump what I consider to be poopy mechanics and feeling of artillery in NW.

Cool video, now I know why many of the accounts of battle mention the 'queer whistling and shrieking of exploding shells'. There is also a video out there of a 12lb Napoleon shooting canister, the buzzing sound the projectiles make sounds sinister.

I think this is the one you're talking about.

The artillery battery that was attached to our battalion did a live fire at our camp of instruction one year. If I remember right they did solid bolt and canister.

150 years ago with your buddy's brains and blood splashing on you with a lot more shells firing in to your line and around it. Now thats in your head add the shreiking and moaning of the previous wounded esp. if your coming in late and not to mention with the range of rifled muskets men falling almost continuously. Now you have PTSD sorry

"Captain, my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. Captain, that is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave".- Thomas Jonathan Jackson
