Is it a good idea to implement a Courrier/Messenger system where someone is taking the role to bring the General's order with him and distribute it on the front lines ?

(It will reduce the HUD on the screen so you can easily immerge yourself in the game)

Receiving orders would take a while if you're all the way on the other side of the map. I think captains should receive orders through text popping up on their screen.

I've thought about asking this question, but if people are using Teamspeak it sort of makes this feature useless.

Not if those ingame orders are needed, to finish or assign tasks, taking objects or granting bonuses for those units

I like this idea, it would definitely add to the immersion, messengers could have horses so travel wouldn't be a huge problem.

I vote yes, although I would personally prefer if the message was automatic, but delayed, the delay varying based on distance from the person giving the orders. This is because I doubt most people would actually want to play as the courier. Perhaps it could be a server-side option, to switch between auto and having to send someone with the message. Obviously the latter is more realistic, and allows for interception

I wouldn't mind an auto system as long as it's delayed. I'd like it to be delayed based on how far you are from the commander, the closer you are the faster you get the message.

EDIT: Didn't realize he said the same thing lol.
