I know. My first post says that this thread includes the Generals of the Army of Northern Virginia during the Maryland Campaign, which South Mountain was part of.

And I don't have any evidence for this right now, but Nathan Evans Brigade (Tramp Brigade) was not in any certain division, in most of the war they weren't in any division but just "reporting directly"
    Thanks! You are right. Fixed.

Have you lived off of poor rations, dehydrated, in horrible boots and feared for your life while running half a mile and then brought your sights up? If you can answer yes to those questions I'll consider your suggestion to reduce aim sway. -Trusty
I did shoot a deer at 100m once in 20 degree weather with Ugg's boots on and I hadn't eaten breakfast, closest I could get to your description -Me

My list is representative of ranks/commands held during the Maryland Campaign. George Pickett was in fact a Brigadier General at the time of that campaign. He was promoted to Major General in October, nearly a month after Sharpsburg.

Just like Jackson and Longstreet was promoted in early October, so was a number of other officers...
