Well, that's the reason why I didn't want to choose it. The American Civil War was already very limited in playstyle, and the Mexican-American War would just be worse.

Hi, I love the idea, I had in mind to do a mod for M&B:NW in the past about this war, that's the only thing I can do with my knowledge, and as a spanish this part of our history interest me and I think also a great part of the spanish stratigic and history gamers, so I think this game can get support from us.
    Cheers

Nope. That's only after the war, which might be portrayed in a DLC.

Nope. That was after the war, which is candidate for a possible DLC.

    I don't have a problem with this.

I personally believe that every historical event should be transmuted to a computer game.

Like I've said to Jack Clock at the Verdun forums,I'm flirting with a game idea as well. But I don't know how to model, program or even make concept art. Until now,I've been doing some internet research and organizing what I've found on a doc file.
All I'll say is that it's a multiplayer FPS with combined arms battles (like the good old Battlefield 42,Vietnam and 2) but regarding a theme probably never explored by any games other than some RTS's.
UE4 seems to be the most appropriate engine for it,as it's free and doesn't look troublesome like Unity (for the games I've played in Unity and UE3 so far).

Actually, there have been no games of this time period. Ever.

Also, the idea I was thinking of would be to replicate how the war was fought, with the Spanish holding up with machine-guns and trench warfare while the U.S use cavalry and offensive units. The Spanish have to defend up to three bases in a certain amount of time. If the U.S captures all of the territories, they win. If the Spanish hold at least one base, they win.
