    Only when passing through dangerous territory. There might be a small formality otherwise, but it would be a waste of resources and energy to bother with it too much in known friendly territory when no enemy is present.

    I was reading through this old thread and it reminded me how much attention to detail people had in historical reenactments and traditions. It’s interesting how different cultures show precision and artistry in their own ways — from military formations to something as delicate as body art.
