Looks interesting, kinda like a WW2 version of squad, which is cool.

I just hope they can reach some of their other goals, I really want to see the Pacific theater added, not many games explore the Pacific even though it's a huge theater of war. Okinawa, Peleliu, and Iwo Jima would be some interesting areas to see.

Besides that, another realistic ww2 game nearly started at the same time.

Is this still being worked on or is it dead?

    Looks very interesting.

EDIT: Looks like it's still being worked on.

    Sounds pretty cool.

Traction Wars is also shaping up nicely:

That game used to be a mod for Squad, but then community drama made it a standalone game. It'll probably play like Squad does.

If you like realistic vehicle combat - Darkest Hour is pretty much the authority. I have routinely had crazy and epic experiences both combined arms and in pure armor battles in that game. It was only a matter of time 'til someone tried to combine Company of Heroes with a first person game.

My thoughts exactly. They mention nothing of a morale system though. And while the playtesters/recorders in the trailer are playing the part, gamers don't fire to suppress unless there's a reason.

My rant on wounded in a video game:

Wounded is interesting because it's certainly a life-or-death difference in real life. The problem is that how do you incentivize the care of wounded realistically. The idea of a 'medic' is often misused. Expect the company medics to be at an aid station, not dragging guys out of the foxholes under fire. When they did that, they got medals. Because that was not their place. Comrades give the most basic first aid and evacuate their comrades to the medics in most circumstances. Otherwise the medics would be dead... real fast. And they were not distributed out to the portion everyone imagines. We're talking one-per-platoon at most.

Untreated wounded should effect the psychie of the soldier and start to batter his morale resilience as he realizes he may not be treated quickly enough. This is the most realistic and best way to incentivize the treating of your wounded.

The enemy capturing and treating your wounded should increase the hard-numbers likelihood that you autosurrender when cut off and outnumbered as the enemy close in while having a neutral effect on your morale. Conversely your wounded or 'autosurrendered' or actual medics getting shot should decrease the likelihood that you are autosurrendered even in dire circumstances.

A complex morale system is important to create firefights and enhance the player experience beyond pure hit/miss mechanics.

Not trying to hi-jack the thread so I won't be responding to any retorts here.

Interesting idea, would actually incentivise a team to tend to their wounded.

Also not trying to derail, just thought that was a good idea.

I love WW2 FPS games.. but its always the same setting. Russian Front or Normandy.

I would like to have a realistic WW2 game, based in the war against France or Poland. The setting should be 1939-1940 ..
Yes, there is WW2 online, but come on.. its way to old

I loved WW2 but after countless rehashes of the theme, the gaming world, like you say, needs someone to think outside the box!
