Steam, if you can be reached faster through it. Easier to talk in real time too.

The important fundamentals: colour and light, anatomy, composition have little to do with software, and I suggest getting a good textbook, like Bammes or Hampton for anatomy, James Gurney's "Color & Light" for, no surprise here, colour and light, Loomis' "Creative illustration" for composition, but it covers colour and light well too. Most tutorials you find on the internet often don't go into enough depth or provide with good continuity to learn efficiently.

Yes I suppose it was a broad question. Sorry.

I suppose in fact its more a question of technique over fundamentals in my case. I have the tools but perhaps having never ventured into painting with PS its more tips on how to get the require results.

I personally feel confident with regards to anatomy, as I illustrate also, and having studied Photography and taught Photography I feel I have a good grasp of Colour/Light and Composition.

I will add you to steam, thank you.

Another work of art by Cruor_Volt

Considering I was pretty vague on what I wanted, the right questions where asked and I'm really happy about the end result
A Zouave was an obvious choice since I'm European and the red & 'darker' blue is a nice color combination.
I write for my personal account and from personal experience, unless stated otherwise.

Long time, but would like to do a couple or so more portraits or something if anyone's interested.
