A unit should be the smallest thing that has it’s casualties, both caused and taken, listed. As Sox has rightfully said, the amount of people begging to know how many kills they got with little care for how much harm they might have caused thier team in the process is baffling. The Devs once showed a planned ui for an end of match screen that had the scores for units listed and I hope that is what they are working towards.

War of Rights is a game focused heavily on team work. If say my lads caused the 1stGA 15 losses in line and suffered even 6ish losses skirmishing, with a few out of line, then already I can tell I haven’t traded well, my kills where for naught and I have been more of a detriment to the team than an asset. If say, however, I inflicted 10 in line kills to say 2 skirmish losses because I elected to just shoot and scoot then I’ve been an asset to the team. This kind of information would be great stead of just individual kills and deaths.

Here is my take on things. There should never ever be a a hit marker or kill feed/cam while in game. Ever. However, the curiosity even gets to me sometimes haha. The way this could be implemented is just making it after match statistic read out where you can only see yours, and no one else's. Post scriptum has it setup were you cant see your kill/wound count till after the match is over. However making only your visible to yourself I think would negate some of the playing for kills only because you cant really compare yourself to anyone else from that session.

I feel like any kind of individual kill counter encourages the possibility of going for kills over team play. I love PS and play it loads, but I will admit I am guilty of said crime due to it when I’m just running loose. I really hope to see the proposed unit kill counter implemented. It will definitely incourage team play over individual.

    How about this idea

Kill counter only for kills inside the formation. It would add fun and would encourage team play. I love team play but I would really also LOVE to see my kills

I like kill counts just as much as anyone but I don't think it's worth the negative effect it has on teamwork. Better to trade the satisfaction you get from that and learn to go without, it isn't that hard.

My last game cue violin had no kill counts or scores and a few servers installed Source engine plugins which kept stats. It made a huge difference and people care a lot. I definitely was whoring the machinegun shamelessly going for the optimal positions for that goal when it was tracking.

What you could potentially do one day though is make steam achievements for kills. So you maybe get a "first kill" achievement and 100 kills, 1000, 5000, etc if your progress towards the kill achievements could be totally hidden but still tracked.

Here's my old stats from Day of Defeat, incomplete I'm sure.

    Kills16,173 (as Allied Rifleman)
    Deaths13,243 (as Allied Rifleman)
    Rounds won806 (as Allied Rifleman)
    Rounds lost626 (as Allied Support)
    Captures1,852 (as Allied Rifleman)

I definitely don't miss playing on random servers and suddenly being noticed and solicited for recruitment by the clanners every time I was slaying up a storm. Lots of bad things come with kill counts.

You have a re spawn which negates any argument on realism tbh

Maybe if it was a report for after the game it could do both in respect to tickets and kills.Personally I'd like to see what I can improve on in game but can understand the need to keep it as real as possible

My biggest thing of why I'm happy there aren't a kill count is there is so much more to this game then killing. To me the essence of the game lies in teamwork and skill. Sure you need to kill people to win a map but you also have to use teamwork to achieve that with the tickets system. You have to use skill to know when to break your reload to how to stab someone in tandem with your teammate next to you.

Everyone has been "trained " for years that kills matter the most, and I think this game tries to break out of that mold which is why you see people pushing back in favor of one here and there.

I personally hated that there was no kill indication or count at the end of the map when I first started playing. Now I really embrace the current system and couldn't imagine it being any other way. I hope the game leaves it alone in the future as for me it makes me pay more attention to what I'm doing in the game and helps me appreciate the people who are playing around me more

First, and you all know how it pains me greatly to admit it but ... Have to agree with Bravescot.

Secondly, can we please stop this narcissistic, Rambo, I got mine no matter how bad I screwed my fellow players, 12 year old, I Beez Ub3r mentality?
It has destroyed enough great games and, just like with Collectivism/Socialism/Communism/Progressivism, saying "It will work this time around" is delusional and destructive.

Lastly, can we get that wonderful "beating a dead horse" emote ... once again? thanks

All that I and many others want is simply a sound. A sound that triggers when you hit flesh. Doesn't need to give any other details than this. Some of you don't like it but it will arguably bring in or retain a huge amount of players. This isn't a COD type of change, this is a realistic (imo needed) adaptation of the game because it is indeed a game. PLEASE.
