Respect to all who died in the “War to end all Wars”.
Amongst them my great uncle, a young Australian man just 21 years old, who fell in France less than a week before the Armistice was signed on the 11th of November 2018.

Indeed.

For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.'
In a way, the aftermath of the "war to end all wars" set the stage for the "war to end all wars". Conflicts since then have been localized and no major power dares to use their full arsenal because an all out battle would only last minutes instead of years.
I watched "They Shall Not Grow Old "just today as it was showing on the 9th, 10th and 11th. I am beyond words for it and how much it changed what the war was. I've studied WW1 in depth and felt I had a strong grasp of it, this footage just changed it utterly especially the bodies.
Watched the documentary last night. Simply stunning, by turns, informative, funny, horrifying and moving. I have been to war but what these people went through makes that pale by comparison - as Bravescot said, you can't but help change your conceptions about the First World. A profoundly significant piece of work that anyone vaguely interested should make an effort to see.
Where can I find this? missed it on BBC2
