Norway, Sweden, and Denmark sign a Pact to open their respective borders and establish free trade
This morning, the Foreign Affairs Ministry released an agreement between Norway, Sweden, and Denmark agreeing to open borders to each other to "enable free trade and enhance the economic relations of our great nations." as the spokesperson said. "We hope that the signing of this Pact will allow for great economic prosperity for all of the people of Scandinavia, as well as bring our great countries closer together and forge bonds of friendship in these desperate times where friendship is needed most." said Halvdan Koht, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. He went on later to also say, "I would like to thank my good friends in Sweden and Denmark, who have proven so generous and kind in our exchanges, and I hope that this is merely the start of greater bonds between our countries for years to come." Many in the country have celebrated this move, which received widespread support from members in the government and general population.
The Prime Minister will travel to Stockholm for further discussions
Prime Minister Johan Nygaardsvold has announced he will be travelling to Stockholm for further, more personal discussions with the Swedish government. He will be travelling alongside the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Defence, and other delegation members. "It is our hope that we can reach further solidarity in our great Scandinavia with our friends in Sweden, and that much fruit will be borne through these discussions. I, alongside my fellow Ministers and friends in Sweden, hope that by talking personally we can forge closer bonds than ever before and show the world that we are all Scandinavian brothers."
