Adding a vote kick to remove officers.

Would it be within the realms of possibility implementing some sort of team vote kick system regarding the specialized classes, especially officers? Numerous times squeakers or woefully in experienced people will take the reigns and will not hand them over to people that know what they are doing. If there could be a team/regiment vote system to remove the officer and prevent them from taking that class for the rest of the session I think would help a lot.

Perhaps the glass half full approach would be what they’re discussing in Alpha Suggestions - vote Officers in as we spawn into game.

That could also prevent people from gaining experience playing officers though. Thats why I like the vote kick system. If someone is doing a decent job good, if not then they can be relieved of command.

The game Blackwake is using such an approach and it works a bit. On the other hands you can have a few kids on that can ruin this system as well. There a captain is voted up front. If someone is incappable they are voted out of the role. But than again this game has more captains and other leading roles, so I think maybe a record that keeps track of your roles can help here? If you have much succes in your name you can climb the ladder of NCO and officer roles?

Either way, Officer quality control IMO is the number 1 issue facing the game because they’re the main factor in determining our gameplay experience.

I’ve gone from being absolutely elated under one Officer to 10 minutes later logging out of the game in frustration under another Officer.

There’s are a lot of thing CG can do to help the situation but at the moment they’re being consumed by server issues.

Once things stabilise I hope the Officer quality issue becomes front and centre of their attention.

A vote in/out system, along with an officer "credit rating" Why not mash all these into one system. Seems brilliant to me.

    Agreed.

It’s not perfect and some say it can get a bit cliquey and stifle up-and-comers when you elect Officers, but I think in a largely mature-age community like ours these concerns are less of a problem.

Anyone who aspires to be an Officer can establish a reputation as an NCO and get some credibility up by supporting the Officer and filling in when the Officer dies. Inevitably they will get their turn.

There’s no perfect solution but IMO this is the best and also the fairest.

Also a plus side for compagny's who are partly in the field that moment. They can have a large say as a group in who is leading them.

I understand that following an officer is important, but if he’s shite my suggestion would be see if anyone decent is playing as an NCO and follow them. Not perfect but it can help.

The inability for anyone but a chosen few to gain experience leading ... coupled with the rampant fear in this Community of being 'lorded over' by others OR the same officers being chosen just because some have banded into larger units who can sway EVERY vote ...
it is doubtful that a voting style system would solve anything.
