Since we are patrolling our own camps we should be able to select any regiment of our choice to play as. If we can select anyone to play as in the drill camp i do not see why this should be different.

Right now, we would like to make the regiment selection random.
Maybe there could be another option, like being able to set the regiments for the next round, by admin option.

Well, what's going to happen is that the Sharps rifle becomes King of the Battlefield, and the regiments that use them (42nd PA, 1st USSS, 4th and 6th PA Cavalry, for the Union) will be the only ones played.

True, but this might speed-up the overall gameplay of Picket Patrol.
More accurate rifles would mean more deaths and perhaps a quicker round resolution. Less waiting time for observers.

The sharps rifle argument does not make sense to me. Rate of Fire is the only defining factor in weapons in the game.
seeing as it is mostly companies that are actually enjoying this mode, why not just admin enforce the companies that actually are to play their own... sharpshooters play as sharpshooters, line play as line, cav as cav etc....
