When someone is talking within one pace of me, or talking right next to me, I cannot hear them or can barely hear what they are talking. If the same person happens to increase the distance a bit, I get to hear him fine again. If he comes back again, again I cannot hear him.

Yes, the VOIP is sort of all over the place and could do with some refinement.
This has been a known issue they have been working on. Not sure the progress but it definitely needs it.
