Pause Whem New Message on South Mountain Skirmish

Every time a message appeared on the chat it paused the game for me for that couple of seconds. This was on the server running one of the South Mountain new skirmishes. Has anyone else noticed this?

Not a lag type pause. It was like displaying the message stopped the game.
