If we buy from The Humble Store or Green Man Gaming does this game always require Steam to run? Is there any releases that doesn't require Steam to run?

The game can currently only be played via Steam and if you buy the game from Humble Bundle or Green Man Gaming. They will send you a Steam key upon the purchase.
