There's a years difference in this history. The game models 1862 … Carlisle was burned in 1863 during the Gettysburg campaign.
And I'm sure Gen'l Lee knew about it.
I think it's an exaggerated account, although they may have fired a few buildings of military value. They definitely requisitioned supplies throughout Pennsylvania. Carlisle wasn't burned itself.
I was reading on and I was interested to read that he took the pants off a dead federal soldier and replaced his with his own. I actually heard the account of this occurring recently from the other perspective, where his comrades found a guy with his pants changed like that. I wish I could remember where as I'm not sure the two have been placed together. I feel like it was the 45th NY
