    DER DEUTSCHE REICHSKANZLER
    Reichskanzlei, Berlin

    The Stockholm Agreement

After hours of negotiation and debating, the summit hosted by Sweden in Stockholm concluded as an unprecedented success for Europe. Where certain countries in Europe prove resistant and unwilling to diplomacy, the participants of the Stockholm Conference proved that, in Europe, there is still an appetite for peaceful coexistence and cooperation among like-minded entities. As such, the German government is overjoyed to be able to present, on behalf of all five countries that took part in the summit, the agreement that was signed by the respective governments and heads of state last night.

The Kaiser and his ministers declare that there shall reign an eternity of friendship between the German Empire and Scandinavia. For the betterment of our countries and Europe as a whole.

    The Transfer of Northern Schleswig

According to the Stockholm Agreement, the German Empire will transfer control of Northern Schleswig to the Kingdom of Denmark. This was a compromise offered in good faith as an effort to overcome differences between the German and Danish people that still lingered from the Second Schleswig War. It must be stressed that this transfer does not represent an acknowledgement by the German government that the Second Schleswig War was unlawful or unjustified in any way. When the Danish kingdom violated the Treaty of London, Prussia honoured its obligation and enforced the terms of the treaty. This was the correct course of action and Germany stands by that view.

However, while Southern Schleswig and Holstein are largely populated by Germans after fifty years under German governance, Northern Schleswig still boasts a primarily Danish population. While many efforts at Germanisation have been attempted, they have soundly been resisted. Therefore, there is little reason why the German government should have rejected such a compromise, given the benefits the Stockholm Agreement provides for all countries involved. It is important to His Imperial Majesty the Kaiser that the German people understand that they are under his divine protection and that no German must fear prosecution or oppression by a foreign people. As a pillar of support for the small number of Germans that do indeed live in Northern Schleswig, the Interior Ministry has established a grant to provide financial means and aid to Germans in the territory that wish to move from Northern Schleswig to other German territories in light of the transfer.

Die Kaiserliche Marine - Expansion of the Fleet

As a colonial power, the German Empire must ensure that it has the ability to protect its holdings overseas and the people living in Germany's place in the sun. Over the last years, the Navy has expanded greatly under His Majesty Kaiser Wilhelm II's guidance, evolving into the best equipped, most technologically advanced navy the world has ever laid eyes upon. While much has been achieved, the German people must not and will not rest on their laurels. As other countries strive to challenge German naval supremacy, the Imperial German Navy must ensure to keep its edge and continually expand. With several dreadnoughts already under construction and multiple ships scheduled for commissioning this year, the government has announced that it will accelerate and intensify naval construction efforts even further.

Serbia to participate in talks with Greece about the future of the Balkans
Intrigued by Prime Minister Venizelos' invitation to begin talks, a delegation of Serb diplomats begins to pack for the upcoming talks.

    The Slavic future
While boosted after gaining territory in the Balkan Wars, Serbia is wary of attack from the North from the Austro Hungarians and from the East from the Bulgarians (no doubt upset about the turn of events). Serbia will keep wary of these two foreign powers going forward and Prime Minister Nikola Pašić reiterates the invitation, originally sent by the Kingdom of Greece, to Montenegro to join talks about the future of the Balkans.

"Min Gud, mit land, min ære"

    Success in the Scandinavian Conference

The Kingdom of Denmark is proud to announce itself as a beneficiary of the terms, as laid out in the Stockholm Agreement. With the agreement comes advantageous trade deals between all nations involved, including the guarantee to support one another in all international affairs. In a statement that was recorded in Danish newspapers. President Carl Theodor Zahle made his remarks after the conference in Stockholm. Stating, "With the signing of this document, I believe our beloved Denmark's future in these turbulent times is secure, and the peace of Europe as a whole will be maintained." The Kingdom of Denmark is honored to be aligned alongside its Germanic Brethren as they strive to maintain peace and prosperity in their domains and the world at large.

Northern Schleswig Returns to the Fold!

By signing the Stockholm Agreement, Northern Schleswig has been returned to the Kingdom of Denmark, uniting the large Danish population that resides there. In exchange for the territory, the Kingdom of Denmark will promise its full support to its new friend and ally, the German Empire. Both nations have decided to put away the past conflicts that embroiled the two countries and instead look to the future and the prospect of peaceful coexistence. With the return of Northern Schleswig, celebrations are being planned at this very moment in anticipation of the day of reunion.

    Increased funding for the Søværnet

After decades of budget deprivation in the yearly government budget and lack of interest in it in general. The Danish Royal Navy is in a sorry state when compared to its larger neighbors. However, with the increased hostility in Europe, the need for a well equipped and modern navy is paramount for the nation. The Danish Folketing has decided in a consensus to approve more funding for the Søværnet in the new year. To preserve the independence and sovereignty of Denmark’s borders, and to protect its overseas interests. The new funding will go to upgrade coastal defenses in crucial areas, increase recruitment into the branch, and fund the creation of new vessels to join the Søværnet. One of These is the new KDM Niels Juel, where she will be laid down in Copenhagen At the Royal Navy Dockyard, where construction will begin shortly. She is to be an upgraded version of the KDM Peder Skram, of the Herluf Troffe coastal battleship class, and will eventually become the pride and joy of the Danish Royal Navy; and the Danish nation as a whole.

    United Kingdom - January #3

    "Dieu Et Mon Droit"

    Women to vote!:
A controversial bill was passed in Parliament this month; granting women the right to vote. The progressive party of Parliament has successfully made the case for the bill, in which they have included a second bill to include Equal Workplace Rights for Women, in exchange for passing some of the oppositions bills next month.

    British Women's Army Corps:
Capitalizing on the new bill passed by Parliament, the British Military has decided to allow women to serve in the armed forces of Great Britain in auxiliary non combat roles (save for pilots, the only combat role being allowed to them). Clerical roles, medical, logistics, drivers, etc. Freeing up many fighting men for infantry duties. Parliament has allowed this, however the pilot role has caused concern, stating that women being killed in action will not do any good for morale.

    Rule Britannia!:
The Royal Navy admiralty erupted into a chorus of loud laughter in this morning's conference when the Germans used the term "supremacy" in a sentence describing their navy. Britannia has ruled the waves for centuries, and still do. And as a response to the clear aggression Germany has shown, refusing to be civilized, Great Britain is further expanding their naval might. Unveiling the news of the brand new "Britannia Class Super Dreadnought" In which will be planned out, built, and finished by early next year. The world's greatest weapon. What better to destroy a dreadnought, than a class of ships dedicated to killing them with the fury of god? The Britannia Class will be an improved version of the already perfect Orion Class Super Dreadnoughts that Britain has created. HMS Britannia and HMS Albion will be completed early next year. HMS Exeter, HMS Caliburn, and HMS York will be completed after. Further plans for Britannia Classes will be discussed as needed. The Royal Navy has also begun expanding its sheer numbers, building more dreadnoughts and destroyers; importing materials, manpower, and equipment from the vast British Empire.

    British Military Tradition:
Proud of service to their country, and to show the British people the tradition and love the Army has for the Kingdom that has stood for thousands of years, the British Army will be performing military parades in the Greater London area in February, featuring all branches of the military, and veterans of the recent Boer War. Drum and Fife will sound through the streets as flags wave.

    Parliament Scoffs:
As the Huns create an alliance with the Scandinavians to, as they claim "promote peace and diplomacy" on the same hand, they expand their war machine before the ink finished drying. The United Kingdom's government asks that if the Huns are going to form alliance, at least be honest as to why, after all, it is obvious.

    Inviting the Balkan Nations:
The United Kingdom of Great Britain sends out invites to the Balkan Nations to a conference in London, and hopes we can assist in the formation of a lasting alliance Between both the Balkans and the Entente.

    "Indivisibiliter ac Inseparabiliter"

    London Conference
The Austro-Hungarian government is most concerned with this move in politics as Britain's actions are proving to be the very definition of hypocrisy. While criticising Germany for forging new alliances for the purposes of war-making when they too pursue to create an alliance that threatens our own borders. We therefore demand a place at the London conference as the British are intent on meddling in our sphere of influence, cutting us out from these talks will prove to the world that the British aim to expand their empire and thus bring the world to heel. britain has always relied on her navy for defence and we must therefore ask why they should expand their army? an offensive war is likely the case as there is no other reason for the British to pursue such army reforms and expansion. The British government, by entangling themselves with those who would wish us harm are directly antagonising us and the pursuit of an alliance that promotes nothing but evil and war-mongering should be condemned. As for Serbia, their decision to renew the Balkan league reeks of the same sinister purpose as Britain.

    Reforms and exercises

As recent events have unfolded the Emperor of Austria Hungary has been increasingly pressured by members of his high command to allow military exercises to be conducted in response to the militaristic efforts of Britain. Members of the Austro-Hungarian government would like to assure all neighbouring countries that the training was a response to British posturing and that lessons should be learned from wars that the Austrian army has participated in. The Austro-Hungarian armed forces will also invite the German armed forces to participate in these exercises and war games. We believe that our army could benefit greatly from the most professional armed force in the world.

"С вером у Бога, за Краља и Отаџбину"

    Serbian concerns about Austria Hungary
The Kingdom of Serbia wishes to know why the Austro Hungarian dignitaries with one hand talk about the need for peace and accuse the good people of Britain of escalating tensions while with the other are deciding to flex their, albeit meagre, muscles from just across our border. If she truly desires peace, Austria Hungary has an obligation to prove that she is a nation of her word, not merely a speaker of hollow truth. As a response to the accusations of the purpose of the Balkan League, the Austro Hungarian concerns are unfounded. While defence will be an aspect of the talk, it is merely one part of the overall discussion. The prospective members of the Balkan League feel that such a talk is necessary due to the blatant aggressiveness of such “war games" in order to safeguard our safety. Topics such as trade, transit, and more will also be discussed.

    London Conference
Romania would like to send dignitaries to the upcoming London Conference and would like to thank Britain for the invitation

    Austro-Hungary, German military exercises
With tensions running high throughout all of Europe, the Kingdom of Romania believes it is best to have a properly trained military force and would like to formerly ask for an invitation to join the military exercises being held by the forces of Austro-Hungary and Germany

    "Ἐλευθερία ἢ Θάνατος"

    London Conference

Greece finds it unfortunate that Britain would schedule its conference in the same month as the Athens Conference and urges Britain to reschedule.
Greece also extends an invitation to Romania to participate in the Athen talks.
