    Battle Flag Of The 18th Georgia Infantry Regiment

    Does anyone know how this flag would've looked like during the war?

    Could someone possibly recreate it?

    Looks very similar to the battle flag that 1st Texas carries if not exactly the same. Given that they are from the same brigade, it makes sense to sport the same battle flag.

    The crossbars were sewn over top of a solid field of red, which when faded gives them that color. Other battle flags were cut and sewn together, rather than over top of a solid field.

    My Confedetate ancestor George Washington Hollingsworth Company B 18th Georgia Infantry Regiment.

    Enlisted on 2/22/1862 at Newton County, GA as a Private.

    On 2/22/1862 he mustered into "B" Co. GA 18th Infantry
    (date and method of discharge not given)


    He was listed as:
    * On rolls 1/30/1865 (place not stated) (No further record)


    Other Information:
    born in 1829 in Laurens County, SC
