Welcome to the home of the
14th Tennessee, Company G!
Introduction
The 14th Tennessee Infantry, Company G, is an organized unit within the War of Rights community.
We regularly engage in organized events, aiming to experience the full scope of this excellent game.
Read on for further information about the unit's history, our purpose, and how you can join!
Company History
Company G of the 14th Tennessee Infantry was formed at Camp Duncan in May of 1861. This company consisted primarily
of recruits from Montgomery County. Soon thereafter, the unit was transferred east, to the Army of Northern Virginia.
Here, the regiment was assigned to General James J. Archer's "Tennessee Brigade," under A.P. Hill's Division.
The 14th Tennessee Infantry would go on to prove itself repeatedly, in the battles of Seven Pines, Mechanicsville,
Frazier's Farm, Cedar Run, Ox Hill, Second Manassas, Harper's Ferry, Sharpsburg, and more than a dozen other engagements.
Despite its devastation at Gettysburg, the unit would survive to the end of the war, having fought bravely for almost three years.
Unit Purpose
We aim to have fun through organized events, and each other's company. We acknowledge the busy lives many
of us have (including myself), and do not have frequent trainings or an excessive number of events. We simply desire
to enjoy this great game together, and with an increased level of teamwork and organization.
