    By TheKing:
On this day, 158 years ago, the most fierce battle of the civil war took place at Antietam. It was on this day that the First Texas Volunteers charged into millers cornfield, and 82% of the first Texans would make the ultimate sacrifice. With their treasured wigfall flag lost to them, and so many of their friends killed, you would think that their fighting spirit would be broken. But once again the fighting spirit Texas showed itself once again in them. They continued to fight on with honor, till the very end of the war. Today, let us remember and honor their sacrifice. The mantle of First Texas is one that has been carried by some of the bravest men known, and it is now carried by us. I could not be happier to be here with you all, and I couldn't be prouder of you all, and the good work that you put in every weekend. May we continue to fight hard and keep winning for a long time to come. HURRA FOR TEXANS! TEXANS ALWAYS MOVE EM!
