    Might be an American that joined later in the war, when German Regiments would have suffered many causalities and said casualties being replaced with average Americans.

    Well, this would be late war. Maryland campaign, I doubt any German regiment had a non-german soldier.

    It would really great to have the list because i searched a lot for it but i cant find it. I want to add it to the first post so it would be easier for others to find a german name or a guy who served in the regiment. It's not a must but a nice gimmick i think.

    Looking at that closely, you can definitely see a pattern with people who enlisted 1861-1862 having German names and people who enlisted 1863-1864 having American names.
